OTSS in its partnership with the NW Environment Centre commences its 2nd Horticulture based project in Burnie on October 28th. The funding to run this program comes courtesy of the Federal Government's 'Local Solutions Fund', a fund specifically for 10 regions in Australia, with Burnie the only region in Tasmania to attract this funding. We have great support for this program with many employers and employment agencies.

The program is no cost to participants, and we are targeting the 16-25 year old age group in the Burnie area.  Interested ?  Please contact us for more information.

Registered Training Organisation (RTO) Status

After many months of hard work OTSS has secured nationally Registered Training Organisation (RTO) status. This now provides OTSS with further opportunities to assist our existing clients as well as work with new clients.  Our areas of speciality with our training will cover qualifications in Business, Management, Hospitality and Training & Assessment. To view our training scope, take a look at http://training.gov.au/Organisation/Details/40715.

OTSS in its partnership with the NW Environment Centre has just been successful in securing funding to deliver 3 Horticulture based projects over the next 12-months in Burnie. This funding comes courtesy of the Federal Government’s ‘Local Solutions Fund’, a fund specifically for 10 regions in Australia, with Burnie the only region in Tasmania to attract this funding. We have great support for this program with many employers and employment agencies.

The program is no cost to participants, and we are targeting the 16-25 year old age group in the Burnie area. Over the 12-months we will run 3 x 15-week pre-employment programs with the first program commencing July 1st. OTSS and the NWEC give special thanks to our supporters, especially the Department of Human Services, the Local Solutions Fund panel, Burnie City Council and Steve Kons.  For further information on this program, contact OTSS on 6432 3336.

PARTICIPANTS in the Youth Works program at Ulverstone are shaping their futures by being part of a horticulture program. Based at the Ulverstone Show Grounds the group of seven young adults are earning credits towards workplace certificates.
