Hi there anon!

Voltage has not made an official statement here on Tumblr in regards to their novel app CG policy. Most of it has been found out through the fandom asking Voltage themselves or other means. The only info I have directly from Voltage in regards to this is an ask I sent them a while back when they first made their Tumblr (which I still have saved in my inbox):

Based off of this, Voltage has no problem with users sharing images from novel apps. However, it is worth mentioning CGs have been taken down from other blogging platforms, so the fandom has reached the consensus that Voltage has made a special exception for Tumblr in regards to this. In other words, novel app CGs are allowed to be shared on Tumblr, but cannot be posted anywhere else. We have yet to receive an official statement, but this is the current policy that the fandom the follows and Voltage seems to agree with it so far. However, keep in mind it may change in the future.

The only public statement Voltage has made to the fandom in regards to CG sharing was for the PARTY apps. They asked users to not post unedited CGs or entire screenshots of routes/events. Edits and a few screenshots out of context are considered to be okay. You can read their official statement about PARTY apps here.

It only addresses Samurai Love Ballad PARTY, but that may be because SLB is the first PARTY game that allows you to download CGs from the game. In regards to PARTY apps, Voltage has stated you cannot share unedited CGs from the game but allow edits, asking you to use your judgement as to whether or not you should post something on here. They are trusting you to be a Mature and Sensible Adult and not abuse the policy they have allowed for PARTY apps, otherwise it will be revoked and they will change their policy to no images from the games at all.

It seems as though Voltage themselves are confused as to why people’s blogs are getting reported and think it’s someone else taking it upon themselves to report people for them, which they cannot control.

The fandom has a pessimistic approach to Voltage in regards to most (if not all) things, but I think it’s safe to say that Voltage’s international office honestly has no idea as to why this is happening. I would reach out and send them an email inquiring about this so they’ll get idea that the fandom is concerned about it. It seems as though they’re looking into it right now.

I currently have not received any emails in regards to this situation, which I find weird since I post images from all stories they release. It seems to be sent out very sporadically which makes me doubt that the JP Voltage office has a hand in this (they are VERY thorough when they want to be).
