I wasn’t asked to a single dance in high school and didn’t have a serious romantic relationship until I was 22. And like, yeah that shit hurt when I was younger. I had a lot of fears that I was unlovable and that I didn’t deserve to be happy. And every time I would try to talk to anyone about it, the conversation became, “you’ll find someone”, when it should have been, “you don’t need a relationship or a date, you’re lovable & complete & beautiful on your own”.

So yeah, please normalize young people not dating, and please stop shaming them for it. There’s more to life than romance, despite what the media wants us to think.

Hey I know there are lots of posts about this but really, if you’re young and you’re just getting into mental illness stuff you NEED to stay away from those posts that encourage you to stay stuck in bad places

“Relatable” memes about wanting to kill yourself, posts that encourage you regressing further and further into a bad state of mind

I used to interact with them a LOT because it made me feel better about the fact that I WAS mentally ill, but it also pushed me back to a point where I thought I couldn’t function even though I can. And I just accepted that I had a decreased quality of life and I was way more unhealthy than when I started.

There are much better ways to accept and embrace the fact that you’re ill. Don’t do this to yourselves.
