au where will keeps having rom-com level meet cutes and mack keeps having to find ways to shut them down before his jealous eye twitch becomes permanent.
a guy bumped into will at barnes & noble, knocking his books out of his grip, and they brushed hands while picking up will’s books on the ground. mack sensed it from three aisles away and hauled ass over to loudly tease will for being clumsy and break up the tension.
the barista at their regular coffee shop had will’s order memorized and always wrote a cute note for him on the cup. mack zeroed in on her writing her phone number down as soon as they walked in, and convinced will that they should try the new place across the street instead and then that becomes their new regular spot.
the elevator in their apartment building broke and will got stuck in it with some new guy from the third floor. mack called the firefighters and practically chewed his lip to shreds with anxiety until they finally pried the doors open — just to see will and the guy laughing?? as soon as will stepped out, mack tackled him into a tight hug and watched as the elevator guy’s face dropped.
will accidentally hit a puck over the glass into the stands and nailed some girl straight to the head. will felt guilty enough to visit medical to apologize and mack made a point to go with him (and he was really fucking glad he did bc the girl said the only thing that would make her feel better was getting will’s number). mack just straight up glared at people-pleaser will until will made some dumb joke excuse to turn her down.
