“They’re a sweet pair, her husband works at one of the colleges nearby.”

Oso gave a small hum of affirmation, he knew the other was right. He couldn’t live with their parents forever, it was unrealistic to think that.

“I was thinking about getting a job, I mean there’s got to be something someone like me can do.” He sighed softly as he walked, gripping his cane a bit more firmly. “My whole life I’ve been told I can or can’t do something because I’m blind.”

“I know that. That sucks.”

He remembered telling him the very same thing. He was angry with Osomatsu and said, that he was useless as he was stupid. Of course, he apologized the next day and they made up. But that always stuck to him, “I thought it would be nice for you stay with me.”

“Don’t listen to people when they say that. If anything. Hit them with your cane.” He chuckled at the thought of it.

"It would be nice. Plus you wouldn't have to worry about me hogging the bathroom."

It was true, he hardly took long since he never fused over his appearance. Probably the only plus side of his lack of sight was he didn't have to worry about if he looked ok or not.

"Don't worry, I won't let them put me down." He simply shrugged as he walked with confidence, smiling brightly before chuckling heartily at the other's suggestion. "I might have to do that. Thank you, Todomatsu, you always know how to make me feel better."

Osomatsu couldn’t help but smile widely at the sight of his brother, Jyushimatsu, entering his room in the hospital.

“Jyushi, you’re here…” He sat up slowly, smiling brightly at his brother. “I’m glad…how is everyone?”

Despite being sickly Oso didn’t seem to let it dampen his mood, always wore his signature smile and cracked jokes.

“Doctors say I might be able to come home for the holidays…” He looked at his hands with a small smile before laughing a bit, getting into a coughing fit. “It’d be nice spend the holidays at home instead of here.”

“Sorry…” Oso offered a weak smile as he rubbed his eyes tiredly, he was pretty tired. “I just missed you guys…I wanted to know what I missed out on.” He stifled a yawn as he looked at his brothers with tired eyes. “Glad to know you guys are doing so well.”

“Are you tired Osomatsu-Niisan? Do you want to go to bed?”

“I’ll be fine,” He smiled faintly as he laid his head on the table, the eldest missed everyone so much. “All I’ve been doing is resting for most of my life.”

“Everyone gets tired sometimes Niisan! Even me!” Jyushi laughed

"I know," He rubbed his eyes childishly as he got comfortable, eyes closed as he relaxed more. "It's just...I don't wanna miss anything." He couldn't stifle this particular yawn.

“I don’t know…maybe?” Oso rubbed his chin in thought. “I mean it could?”

“I guess there’s no changing your mind.” He hummed softly in thought before chuckling. “You’re stubborn just like your niisan. Alright, I give, I give.” He held his hands up in mock surrender. “Grab an extra blanket and we can camp out in here together.”

“Yay!” Jyushimatsu shouted, dashing to get his things

Oso couldn’t help but laugh as he laid back down, leave it to Jyushi to bring a smile to someone’s face.

Not five minutes later Jyushimatsu returned with a sizable pile of blankets in hand, dropping them on the floor.

"You're back," Oso smiled softly as he looked at the other's nest of blankets. "You cozy enough?"

Osomatsu didn’t even bother giving the older man a response, opting instead to get the youngest up. He’d already packed their belongings the first time Todo fell asleep, already knowing they’d leave.

He loaded up the car, did a sweep of the hotel before joining the other two in the vehicle, lighting up a cigarette as he sat in the back with his twin.

“Girls this time.” He cracked the window a bit as they sped off, exhausted from not sleeping at all. “I know the deal, don’t attract unnecessary attention.”

Oso knew what was to be expected, having done this enough times to know what he was doing. He examined his bruised knuckles ss Todomatsu slept soundly, the car’s movement had lulled him back to sleep.

It was only hours later that Todomatsu had woken up. He woke up in the car. He rubbed his eyes slugglishly. How long has he been out? It must have been a few hours or so, “Where—?” He asked, looking around tiredly.

“Tokyo.” Tougou responded, getting out the car, “Go get yourselves clothes. I’ll be out waiting for the both of you.” After this, he was going to be keeping a close eye on the both of them, “I expect you back in here two hours, no less, no later. Or else.”

“Go on.” Todomatsu strecthed his limbs before getting out, “Fine.”

"Whatever you say dad." Oso smirked when the older man cringed, it was a surefire way to get Tougou to back off. "Let's go, Todo." He tugged his brother along as they entered the strip mall, already setting an alarm for two hours. "So, what kinda looks are we gonna do this time?" He was browsing through the different clothes, knowing the school would provide their uniforms. "I'm thinking identical twins, we can swap places for classes we don't like."

“I’m really happy you’re branching out,” Osomatsu smiled fondly as they both crossed the crosswalk together. “The five of you seem to be making friends…makes me happy.”

He raised a brow at the other’s words, smiling faintly before laughing a bit.

“You sure you’d wanna be burdened with a blind man?” He said it so casually as he walked, using his cane to stop the other again as a woman being dragged by her toddler. “Hello Ms.Tama and little Hana.”

The eldest usually went on walks by himself, it was only natural he figured out patterns of those he passed by. He smiled widely as the toddler babbled to him, occasionally chuckling.

“It looks like you have some friends, as well.”

Todomatsu chuckled and continued on walking, making sure to stay by his older brother’s side, “I don’t know. Mom and Dad can’t take care of you forever and neither can our brothers. I can try to work and take you on your walks.”

“It’s not much of an issue, nii-san. I can do it.”

“Blue eyebrows? Oh my god, that’s absolutely hilarious!” Osomatsu couldn’t help but snort loudly, his whole body trembling with laughter, and took a few deep breaths. “It’s fine, lil man, I’m not mad or anything. I’m more worried about you, aee you feeling ok?”

He was grateful for the other in his life, it gave him hope that he had someone to live for. Granted there were times where he wished he’d been the only one taken, so Todo didn’t have to deal with all the hardships they faced…so he was safe.

“A pine symbol…maybe it’ll make sense in time?” The eldest offered a small smile as he tried to relax, he still ached all over but being around his twin was more than enough to help ease some of the pain. “Try and rest a lil longer.”

“I guess so.”

Todomatsu went back to sleep shortly after. This time, he slept peacefully in his sleep. It was quiet. Something that was rare in this ‘family’. Since, whenever Tougou was home. He would scream at the two and pass out drunk.

In the morning. The door opened revealing Tougou, he had a cigarette in his mouth, “They’re looking for you. The cops. And before you say anything. You left witnesses. How many times do I have tell you if you kill someone, you don’t leave any witneeses?” Tougou was surprisingly calm for once. Most likely because he didn’t want to attract attention.

“Wake your brother up and let’s go.”

“Mhm, it’ll be great!” Oso chuckled softly as he got comfortable. The rest of the visit went off without a problem, soon enough the holidays rolled around and Oso was in a stable condition for once. He was pretty darn happy about it, he smiled brightly as he walked into his home. Only his parents knew he was coming, he wanted it to be a surprise.

Jyushimatsu leapt to his feet and ran over as soon as he saw his oldest brother, wrapping him in a near bone-crushing hug. “NIIISAAAAAAANNNN!!”

Osomatsu smiled widely as he hugged the other close, chuckling heartily before going into a fit of coughing. “Told you I’d be home for the holidays.” He looked a bit sickly but that wasn’t anything new with the oldest.

“I’m so glad you came home Niisan! Now everything will be fun again!”

“Definitely!” Oso coughed into his arm, wincing a bit but smiled brightly. “So, catch me up on what I’ve missed.” He joined the others at the table.

“I hit a lot of home runs yesterday! And Ichimatsu-Niisan brought the kittens home! Wel they aren’t really kittens anymore, but they’re still cute!”

“I’m so proud of you, Jyushi!” Oso patted his brother on the back gently. “Same goes for all of you. I’m so happy you guys are doing so well.” His voice cracked towards the end, he just chuckled softly as he rubbed his neck. “Kara, Jyushi told me you’ve learned a few new songs…will you play me a few later?”

“O-Of course buraza! Whenever you want to hear them!” Karamatsu replied with a pose

Oso couldn't help but smile brightly at that, his eyes flickered towards the fourth and third. "Jyushi also said you took care of some kittens, Ichi. I'd like to see them if that's ok." He really missed being around his family and wanted to make up for lost time. "And Choro, you apparently have been taking photos at concerts for me...can we look at them together?" He looked at the youngest with a gentle smile. "I heard you got a job, Todo."

All in all it was a good day.” Osomatsu smiled faintly, exhausted from the day’s activities, and stifled a yawn as he finished his dinner. “Since my shoulder’s still sore, I’ll sleep on the couch for tonight.” He took his dishes to the kitchen and rinsed it off. “Jyushi, feed Fluffy before you go to bed, I’m gonna turn in early.”

“You got it Niisan!” Jyushimatsu replied with a salute before going to wash off his own set of dishes

Osomatsu smiled tiredly as he grabbed a spare blanket before laying down on the couch for the night, too tired to change into pajamas. It’d be too much trouble with his shoulder the way it was, he was fine.

Jyushimatsu finished cleaning his dish and feeding fluffy before stopping once more by the couch where his brother was going to sleep. It didn’t seem fair to Jyushimatsu that Osomatsu had to sleep in here by himself

"Jyushimatsu," Osomatsu yawned into his hand, half awake as looked at his brother with a worn but sincere smile. "You should go lay down on the futon with the others, I'll be fine." He sat up slowly, ruffling the other's hair affectionately. "If I need anything I'll be sure to ask you first, kay?"
