Releasing this album feels like releasing so many parts of me into the world!! I couldn't be prouder to have made this record, and I couldn't be prouder of my best friends Michael Macdonald, Matt Noonan, and Jordan Tate for making it with me. These songs explore the relationship(s) I have with myself, with the people I love most, with the world the way it is and the world the way I want it to be. There's a little something here for everybody, so I hope you can find some time to turn off them lights, slip on some headphones and explore yr heart a little bit.
Endless thanks to Jason Cupp for MAKING this album and shooting it into a whoooole 'nother stratosphere, for helping me figure out how to DO all this, and for always believing; to Stephen Shirk for having us make so many sounds in his gorgeous studio and for letting me "prepare" his upright piano (maybe sinking a couple two tree paper clips in the process); to Tiny Telephone Recording for hosting the absolute best whirlwind of a 10 hour strings/horns session that I loved more than anything (and to Shawn Alpay for assisting!); to all the insanely talented people who played on this record, helped realize the dream, and had a lot of fun and kombucha in the process: Kristina Dutton, Cory Wright, Mia Bella D'Augelli, Crystal Pascucci, Scott Brown, Deidre Huckabay, Donnie Sujack, Daniel Brottman, + more; and to Rachel Hartshorn for somehow capturing the whole vibe in her beautiful handmade album art and to Carter Arthur Lodwick for making the whole cover design POP. And that's all part of the process, that's fodder. But sometimes you need to remind yourself why you started this good chase in the first place and just make your move -- do it right, but do it quickly, and don't look back. This video is for the moment, for the immediate, for the right now, for your imperfect lunch. The chase IS good, and the chase is all we can do. Cut to the chase, baby.
