On Christmas Eve 2017, dad told me a story of his father’s about high school art class: When my grandfather, Peter, drew a daisy he included its insect bites and wilting. His result was a ‘C’ because it was not as ‘beautiful’ as the other drawings in the class. The night I heard the story I imagined the picture and drew my version of it.
