Biography: Out of 100 lineages of female rulers, Kal was the first male to be born into his mothers bloodline. Æglecia was a bit upset at this, and she watched him like a hawk, under the impression that if he couldn’t live up to her standards, then he was going to die. 

Æglecia felt that he was different. She felt that for her son, he was too weak and she would do things to him so that he could be stronger like making him fight alpha males in their clan, and she even beat him herself if she saw that he wasn’t listening to her. Kal was unnecessarily mean to other clan members, and he would start fights, but he had a group of friends that he would hang out with. As he got older, many of them wondered why he never had a mate or anything like that. Kal never wanted to do this, so he kept himself really busy by going out on hunting missions for weeks at a time, which his mother liked. She caught up to him and she told him that he would be marrying a girl named Phire, who came from their rival clan, the Two-Claw clan. He was devastated, but he did as his mother said.

They were married a week later, and although she was a tough and brace girl, Kal had no interest in her. His mother pressured him to consummate the marriage, but he really didn’t want to. That night, he thought of something that was surely going to cause trouble. That night, he told Phire that he was actually half human and that if they had kids, then they wouldn’t be real demons. She was disgusted and she fought with him, throwing him out and demanding that their marriage was over. 

The lie that Kal told backfired, and Æglecia was seen as a traitor to her race and many of her clan members wanted nothing to do with her. It took her a while to convince her clan mates that she and Kal were pure demons, but that left a large sea of distrust between all of them. After this, Æglecia was pissed. He told her that he didn’t like what his mother had done to him. For the longest time, they were hostile to one another, and Kal contemplated leaving his clan completely, but that’s when things started to change. 

A boat washed up into the shores of their beach, and 5 people were taken as prisoners. These prisoners included a Werewolf, a Vampire, two training witches, and some sort of creature that Kal had never seen before. Æglecia recognized the werewolf as being the son of the Anselem’s, a powerful werewolf family that lived in Italy, and she said that the creature was a half demon. She didn’t want it anywhere near her people, so she chose to lock him up. 

Kal didn’t think that this was fair at all, but he had to obey his mothers wishes. Days passed and Kal was worried about the prisoners, so he went to the dungeons and he brought them some things. One day he was down there when he heard them talking. They stopped speaking, assuming that he didn’t understand English, but he listened to what they were planning. The witch girls and the vampire were going to make use of their friends transformation the next day. They were hoping that he would turn, break out of his cage, and distract them long enough to get the keys. They would then undock the ship and sail off. 

This was hard to do, but Kal contemplated telling his mother about their plan, but he stopped himself. The next night as the guard on duty slept, he grabbed a spare ring key and he slid it to the witches. They were confused at first, but they got it. Their werewolf friend was going to turn anyway, but they could let themselves out before that happened. He remembered that their half demon friend was in a different part of the prison, so he went to get him. 

In the lower dungeon, he found their friend. He had been badly beaten, but he was still alive. Kal knocked out the guard that was on duty, unchained him and dragged him up the stairs where the witches were. He gave the vampire a blanket that he could use for in the morning. As it got later into the night, he heard howling and he heard people screaming. Their friend had turned, and Kal knew that this was their time to leave. He told them about another way to get out of the prison, and as they went there, Kal left through the doors. He saw the werewolf, but he went to their ship and he untied it. He saw the prisoners making their way towards it, and he distracted his clan mates long enough for them to escape. The werewolf must have seen this and it ran after the prisoners. Kal knew that he had one chance to do this, so he chased after them and he managed to get onto the ship as well.

In the morning, when the werewolf was back to his senses, he asked his friends about what had happened. The witches explained and they introduced him to Kal, who decided to join their group. Najda and Laila were witches in training, Tristian was the Vampire who was hiding in he deck, Sterling was the werewolf, and the half-demon was named Njáll. They were actually really friendly towards him and they treated him like a friend. Kal liked that they were different and that they didn’t really care that he was a demon. As they sailed, he decided to talk with Njáll. He was a bit strange because he acted more human than demon, but he was really smart. He knew a lot about fishing and repairing thing on the ship, but what Kal was most amazed by was that he could swim. Kal didn’t know that Forest Demons could swim, and he was fascinated by this. He would throw things into the water on purpose just so he could see how Njáll did it. He eventually told him to stop. They became real good friends, and Kal liked knowing that he had someone who he could connect with. 

The group went on to do various quests, and they even met a Dragon prince who happened to become one of their good friends. Kal was away for months, and soon he was enjoying being away from home. Sterling had to visit his parents, but before that, they had to stop at an inn. That night, Kal was hanging out outside when he saw something creeping through the woods. He confronted it and saw that it was about 10 members of his clan. They told him that he had to return home or else his friends would be killed. It was hard, but he didn’t want them to get hurt. He left with his clan members and went back to Greece. 

He didn’t really enjoy his time back because he liked being out in the world. He also missed his friends and he worried about them out there. His mother wanted him to stay there, so she made him the leader of their clan. With this, he was approached by different clan leaders who offered their daughters in marriage. He told them that he would rather be alone then with someone that he didn’t really like.

He got word that a visitor was coming, and he was surprised to see that it was Lilah. She was a full fledge witch, and she needed his help with an important issue. A Necromancer was terrorizing the netherworld, but they needed demons to fight him off. He told her that he would help, but his mother told him that if he left, then he would be exiled from the clan. He took this chance and he joined Lailah in Italy where a portal to the netherworld was waiting. They went in and arrived in the netherworld. It was a rather interesting place and Kal kind of liked it. As he was there, he saw his old friends there too. It was weird how everyone grew up, but he was glad to see them all again. They spoke to each other for a while, but they had to get ready for the fight. 

The Necromancer was very tough, but with the help of the reapers and the death gods, they managed to fight him off. The fight was so bad that many people lost their lives and many others were injured. With the help of all of the witches, the death gods froze the netherworld in time for 700 years so that just in case, the Necromancer would be trapped forever. 

700 years passed and the spell was broken. The Necromancer had died and things were finally back to normal. Some of Kal’s friends wanted to go back to earth, but he decided to stay so that he could learn more about demon cultures. Njáll had nothing to do, and he didn’t want his friend to be lonely, so he decided to stay as well. As time passed and the two of them worked as army advisors, they eventually developed a relationship with one another. Kal was worried because he didn’t know if this was okay there, but after being informed that everyone could do what they wanted, he felt much better about how he was feeling. Kal and Njáll continue to work as army generals in the Netherworld, and they have been together ever since.

Appearance: From a certain standpoint, Kal looks like some sort of Orc or troll that is covered in fur. He’s got a very boyish face, which is why people question his age constantly. He favors his mother, but his eyebrows are not as thick as hers. Because he’s from a hot climate, his fur is shorter and his tail is not as broad. His naturally wavy hair is red, and he even has streaks of red that tint his fur. He has prominent tusks that poke out of his mouth which signifies that he’s an adult demon. His eyes are red as well with yellow sclera, and when looked at, they look really happy. When compared to Njáll, he’s bigger and more muscular, and his tail is longer. He’s usually seen wearing thick leather armor, but other than that he’s usually shirtless with pants on. On his right eye, he has the same tattoo as Njáll, but his is blue.This symbolizes that they are a couple.

Personality: Being the son of the clan leader, Kal is very stubborn and confident like his mother, but to a point. He thinks that you make allies by being friendly, so although he looks intimidating, he’s a very approachable person. He’s level headed and he’s a rational thinker, so instead of tackling a situation head on, he takes the time to plan what he’s going to do. He’s strong and brave at the same time, and he makes sure that his soldiers are taken care of first.

Favourite & Least Favourite things: Favorites: Some of his favorite things include pine trees, the smell of salt water, training his troops, hanging out with Njáll, and being in the netherworld with his friends. Least Favorites: His least Favorites include people who use power to their advantage, people who like harm others, bullies, and people who betray their friends.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Physical Strengths: Being a forest demon, he’s immune to things like lightning, poisons, and fire magic. He has enhanced strength, senses, speed, and combat skills. Strengths: He’s got a really positive attitude that people like to see. He’s also really good to his soldiers and he’s like their big brother. He can be strict at times, but he’s always thinking about their well being. Weaknesses: He constantly tries to prove that he’s the best. So he may fight himself until exhaustion, or until he straight up dies. He’s also kind of a worrier, and he may be too compassionate for a Forest Demon.

People ask him about his accent; he’s Greek. He was born in The western part of the country.

A common misconception is that because of his shaggy fur, he smells bad. He smells amazing because he lives in the woods and the fragrant trees of the netherworld have flowers that smell amazing. His fur picks up the flower smells.

He and his boyfriend, Njáll get along well because he knows how to act in front of demons, but not humans, and Njáll knows how to act around humans, but not demons.

A lot of people don’t believe that that’s his natural hair color, but he can prove that his mother, his great grandmother, and his great-great-grandmother have the same colored hair.

He’s kind of creeped out by a demon named Nazzaereno. He thinks that he’s just too “unnatural”.

He works as one of the netherworlds Generals.

He’s not a good swimmer. He just kind of splashes until he grabs onto something.

Biography: Aya is the first of my muses, born into a family with a legacy of righting wrongs. Taking after her mother, she learned to fight and cast magic at a young age, garnering interest for her ability. The ability to traverse worlds is passed down her family, a mission with it. Stepping through for the first time brought the entire story into motion as she touches the lives of many differing creatures. Her strange sort of charisma draws people in, each of them moved to action in the light of her goals.

Appearance: Stands at 5'8, willowy with slight muscle definition. She typically keeps her hair up and out of the way, but keeps it not much past shoulder length. Her hair is silver and eyes pale blue, complexion light as well. By birth she has a pair of wings, which isn’t common nor go over well with strangers, so she keeps them hidden. If out, they’re large and clear white, giving her an almost angelic appearance. Unfortunately if the wings are out, there’s probably an accompanying sneer that makes a person pretty sure they’re going to die in the next minute or so.

Personality: She’s known to be harsh upon first meeting, but gets attached to genuine people and gets soft with them. She often takes on the role of judge, jury, and executioner, shaping her into one who can be detached almost to the point of cruelty. 

Favourite & Least Favourite things: Trying (and failing) to play musical instruments, any room with a view, food with arguably too much sauce. Dislikes enemies that get too close, dishonesty, itchy armor.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Flight, and a mind for politics, a natural leader. She can channel magic with nearly anything and is proficient at hand-to-hand. Weaknesses include giving the wrong people the benefit of the doubt, a lack of wilderness survival skills, and being physically vulnerable. Also, she can’t sing, at all.

Additional notes: I’ve had this muse for over thirteen years now and she’s always under construction, slowly carving a well-rounded character out of the marble that was my teenage fandom fantasy. 

Biography: Njáll was born in Greenland to Ivor Tómasson and an unknown demon woman. Tomas raised his son by himself, and he was very proud of his child, regardless of what he was. He spent his time teaching his son important things like farming, fishing, and home skills that he could use when he was on his own. Many of the other villagers were wary of Ivor because he was a Greenland Inuit, but they were more wary of his son and they blamed a large amount of things on him. They claimed that it was because he was a demon, and all of their bad luck was coming from him. Ivor spoke to them, pleasing that his son never did anything wrong. Things got so bad that people would throw things at his son. Someone lit him on fire once, but luckily his dad stopped it. After this incident, Ivor decided to move. He took his belonging and his child and they moved into the woods where nobody could bother them. Njáll felt like he was a burden, so he did a lot of things to help his father out around the house. Ivor didn’t want his son to feel that way, and every day he would try to make him feel better by treating him really well.

There were other villagers who still harbors hate against Ivor and his unnatural child, so out of anger, they killed someone and blamed it on Njáll. At the time there was no way to disprove the evidence, so the villagers took the boy into their custody. In prison they did a lot of weird things to him like trying an exorcism on him, they even tried religious ceremonies on him in an effort to be rid of the demon. None of this worked, and they were enraged. 

As this went on, a strange ship docked in their pier. Ivor saw this as an opportunity and he went to speak to the captain. Strangely enough, the captain of the ship was a boy who looked no older than his own son. He asked the kid if he was willing to take on a new crew member, and after much convincing, the boy said yes. That day, Ivor told the villagers that he killed the person and that his son was innocent. They took this opportunity and imprisoned him while releasing Njáll. Before he went in, he told his son to bring what he needed and to go by the docks because he got him a job as a deck hand. Njáll objected, but he knew that he had to go. They warned him that if he returned then things would get worse for his father. He did as he said and he left.

Life on the ship was strange, but Captain Sterling was a kind person who made sure that Njáll was fitting in well. Njáll thought that it was strange that nobody in his crew cared weather he was a demon or not and they treated him as a friend. He felt like paying them back, so he started catching fish and other sea creatures for them to eat. They were extremely grateful and they loved all that he did. The ship then stopped in England and things got even more strange. Njáll noticed that during some times of the month, Sterling would get really sick and he would disappear. He never questioned it, but he felt like something was wrong. As he was gathering supplies, he met two girls who needed a way to get to Greece. They were really kind and they said that they were witches in training. He brought them to Sterling, who said that they could join and the new crew was on their way to Greece. 

After learning that a vampire stowed away in their ship, they made their way to Greece. They made it to the island, but they were soon taken as prisoners by these large creatures that kind of looked like Njáll. The leader of the creatures was a tough woman who hated them all. Njáll noticed that there was a boy who looked just like her standing there and that he kept on staring at him. He was thrown into a different prison for a while until he was released by the red haired boy. He told him that his friends were getting ready to leave and that he would bring him to them.

The escape commenced and everyone got out safely. As they were about to sail, the boy jumped into their boat and he decided to come with them. Lailah and Najda were very welcoming of him and they felt that he would be an asset to their group. As they traveled, Njáll learned that his name was Kal and that he was growing bored in their village. The two of them became good friends and they talked to each other about their families and what they did. The group of travelers went on different missions together, and they all became really close friends. 

One day as they stopped in Italy for a rest, Njáll saw Kal getting up and getting ready to leave. He wanted to ask him if he was okay, but he never got the chance to. He lost his friend and although they looked everywhere, they could not find him. 

They continued with their task and for years they had never heard back from Kal. Njáll was invited to Lailah and Najda’s coronation and he was even invited to the netherworld. He enjoyed it and he decided to move there so that he could learn more about demons, but in the back of his mind he worried about his dad and Kal. 

As he was in the netherworld, he got word that the death gods needed the help of demons and other beings to stop a Necromancer from escaping. He agreed and a massive force of Netherworld dwellers got ready for their attack. Lailah told him that she called for some heavy reinforcements in the form of their dragon friend, Sergei and Kal. Njáll was amazed that she managed to find them both, but he was excited to see Kal again. After a few days, Kal and Sergei arrived, and the group was reunited. After talking to each-other for a while, they all got ready for their fight. 

The fight with the Necromancer was tough and in an effort to stop him, the death gods froze the netherworld in time for 700 years. Once the time passed, the Necromancer was so weak that he turned into stone. The people of the netherworld were saved and they continued to have a safe existence in the newly saved world. 

Njáll and Kal reconnected and although it took him a while to admit it, Njáll told Kal that he liked him. Kal felt the same way, but he was a bit embarrassed by it. They took things slow for a while, but then after seeing that they were in an environment where their relationship was seen as acceptable, they felt more comfortable sharing their feelings with one another.

Appearance: When compared to Kal, Njáll looks more “human” than his boyfriend. Because he’s from the north, Njáll’s fur is longer, much longer on his broad tail. He has blueish fur and his hair is naturally navy blue. He’s about 8 feet tall, 620lbs, and he has a lighter frame than Kal. In his face, he strongly resembles his mother, having her large eyes, full lips, and diamond shaped face. He keeps his hair short and shaved in the back, but most of the time it’s an undercut-mohawk. When he’s not training, he wears a tank top and comfy slacks. On his left eye, he actually has the same tattoo as Kal, but his is red. This symbolizes that they are a couple.

Personality: Njáll is actually a very kind and relaxed person. His father taught him to be humble and respectful to the people that he meets. He’s always willing to listen and he’s willing to protect all of his friends from harm. He is naturally a pacifist, but if he has to fight, then he’s able to tell people what to do. He’s really good at planning and unlike Kal, he’s more willing to make technical traps and contraptions to stop the enemy.

Favourite & Least Favourite things: Favorites: One of his favorite things is farming. He loves it so much and he’s really good at it. He also enjoys fishing and making non-lethal traps. Least Favorites: Being underestimated, people who are rude, abusive people, and people who don’t give others a chance. Other than those things, he’s pretty chill with anything.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Physical Strengths: He is half forest demon so like them, he’s immune to things like lightning, poisons and certain types of magic. He has a rare talent for swimming too. He also has enhanced strength, senses, speed, and combat skills. Strengths: He’s a practical thinker. He tries to do things that will benefit both parties at times, but he’s someone who can think fast and get something done. He’s also pretty positive and he’s a really good guy. Weaknesses: He does worry that he’s not strong enough. He knows that he’s only a half demon, and many old school demons remind him of this fact, but he’s tries his best. Sometimes he’s known to exhaust himself by doing this.

7 Facts about Njáll.

A lot of people ask him this, but his name is actually pronounced as “Kneel”, but he’ll accept “Nye-jal”

He has never been good at climbing trees. He’s tried multiple times, but he can’t really do it. He can get halfway up the base, then that’s it.

When asked, he said that his favorite part of Kal’s face are his eyes. He thinks that they are really expressive and pretty.

He’s never met his mother before.

So far, he likes living in the netherworld because it’s such a different place for him. He loves the gardening and all of the new things that he can plant.

His weapon of choice is a demon sword. He’s learned how to use one of these perfectly.

His good friend is a demon named Vian. Vian is the resident archivist, and he’s really enjoyable to talk to if he’s in the mood. Other times, he’s his other self and that’s really creepy.

Biography: Princess Zakuru Yakusuka. The last of the Winged Cats bloodline. In the human world, she has no memory of her past. But as nightmares haunt her, they begin to awaken. With the help of her friends, she must accept her fate and avenge her people by sealing away the Bull Demon Draco.

Personality: Sweet, Shy, Naive, Anxious, Caring

Favourite & Least Favourite things: Likes strawberries, nature, photography, and cute stationary. Dislikes rude people, winter, needles, and natto.

Biography:  Raicouda was born and raised in a Lion-Blood Clan - but like the other crossbreeds of the world, he was drafted into the Hybrid Clan prior to the events of the story.  As one of the later additions to the team, Raicouda spent his teenage years in the military compound of the Red Crater: being trained for combat, and accompanying missions with the rest of the squad.  Since his arrival, however, Raicouda has proved difficult to work with.  He quickly fostered an intense animosity towards the Hybrid Clan’s captain, Caecius; and the two have been feuding ever since, with Raicouda’s behavior bordering on insubordination.  

This dynamic was only expedited when Ira stepped onto the scene, and claimed her place as Caecius’ rival.  Happy to have a Lioness jockeying for leadership of the Clan, Raicouda became one of her most loyal supporters during the schism.

Appearance:  As the manticore Hybrid, Raicouda is a cross between Lion and Scorpion. He has yellow eyes, and lion ears from his mother’s side, and a large, barbed scorpion tail from his father.  He has golden-tan skin, deep russet hair, a lean build, and sharp features.  His red-brown tail also glows under darklight, along with his claws, eyes, and hairline.

Personality:  Bitter, rebellious, and confrontational - Raicouda causes a fair amount of discord in the Clan.  Although he appears closed off to most, he intensely values honesty, and is fiercely loyal to the few people he bonds with.  He is very intuitive, and a smooth talker when he wants to be.  Comfortable around others, but cynical, and good at holding a grudge.

Strengths and Weaknesses:  Having earned his name (translated: “thunder-tail”) for his potent venom and incredibly fast reflexes, Raicouda is the Clan’s most capable assassin.  He does exceptionally well in 1-on-1 combat, but relies on a teammate’s help when facing multiple threats.  He can dodge well, and pick off enemies easily, but using his grappling hook and stinger can frequently leave him vulnerable to attacks.  The main component in his venom is a fast-acting neurotoxin that can down an opponent with very little struggle.

While Raicouda is clever, good at thinking on his feet, and the best at avoiding friendly fire - his teamwork and listening skills suffer.

Bio: They live in the City of Éireann’s Nature Hold, (Think of it like a national park) where Druid and Mythic Societies are allowed freedom to retain all their cultures and practices. Bap was born to the High Priestess and a Gnome Scholar. 

In the early parts of his life, Bap was very close with his mother. He often went around the Temples helping out and was very lively. Until he reached about age 6. There had long been talk of scandal, doubt and suspicion over his Parents bond, as many did not think Adrial (his father) treated her correctly. While he never really witnessed his parents fight he never truly felt comfortable around Adrial. One day when his powers began manifesting his mother decided to train him. Damien followed her instructions but lost control at a surge of powers, the effects ripping the soul from his mother, killing her instantly. Adrial, suspiciously close by ran in to see the commotion, the trauma on Bap leading to him imprinting on Adrial. The next year he would follow Adrial closely. Nervously as the incident caused him to fear himself and his powers. At the end of the year Adrial crafted a Collar that would lock away Bap’s power. The collar had spikes that pierced into his neck, directly into his bonding Zone, connecting him further to his father. For next 10 years he followed his father like a slave, doing everything he asked, from things like fetching him breakfast in bed to having to brew poisons and feed them to his fathers enemies to sexual favours. Damian doing all of these joyously, unknowing of the mistreatment he was constantly receiving due to the influence of his Bonding.

When he was about 17, he was locked in the temple, a large echoing maze of ballrooms and wide open corridors that is was not his first time being Isolated in, when the doors suddenly opened in what had been likely a full month. And entered was a man, carrying an urn and a scarf, a scarf baring his fathers Insignia broach. The deliverer asked if Bap was okay to which he didn’t respond. And not long after he was brought by one of Adrial’s assosiates to a trauma and Abuse clinic in Zhongguo. After 4 years of treatment Damian returned to Éireann, where he isolated himself deep in the woods.

Currently he runs a small buisness selling potions and other concoctions. He also cares for the forest animals as they arrive at his small house and any people that wander to deep into the woods and injure themselves.

Appearance: He has a Scar that caused his Hetocromia, he covers it with his hair. He wears his fathers scarf all the time. No matter what, though he abandoned the broach a very long time ago. Most often he wears sweater dresses as he finds them very comfortable and Hates formal wear

Personality: Damien is very kind and sweet. He takes a while to see the bad in people but has taken to assuming that it’s safer he doesnt trust anyone. He’s very serious and professional about his work and is very loyal and honest with his customers. He fear falling in love and bonding again because of what happened with his father

Favourite & Least Favourite things: He secretly absolutely adores technology, he will talk about hating it and it being the worst all while he hugs close a computer like its his baby. He hates Romance anything because he cant understand or relate to it correctly.

Strengths and Weaknesses: He has the power to Shift into a full animal form (deer), he can speak with all animals, and he has the minor ability to manipulate souls which more often than not will manifest itself as healing power.

Biography: Argento was born on the isolated and arboreal planet of Vheiriä. As a child, he was teased for his different coloring and he was given the nickname of “The Pale Eyed One”. He was alone for host of his life until he met his good friend, Verde. His mother, Rosû, worked as the assistant to one of the elders, and Argento lived with his 5 younger siblings.

Things were pretty normal, but there was a severe birth rate problem, families like Argento’s were becoming very rare and many of the adults were dying from diseases. The elders, who were extremely set in their ways, refused to take a scientific look at their problem. They told many of their members to pray to their gods for the answers to their problems.

Years passed and things were getting worse. The elders still didn’t do anything, and many people were growing desperate as older people died and their population started to dwindle. The elders soon held a town hall and they told the people that there were visitors who wished to help them. They were known as Makarasans, and they seemed like they were decent people. They looked into the problem, and they claimed that it was because meat that they were eating. The meat was an important source of the Nuantan diet, and they had no other alternatives. The Makarasans offered to supply them with a food supplement that they made in return for workers for their temporary colony. A deal was made and soon both races were working together.  

Argento thought that this was strange and he had his suspicions about what was going on. He didn’t trust the Makarasans because he felt that they stared at him strangely, like they were going to eat him or something, but he opened himself to the possibility that they were really going to help their planet. The population was slowly coming back to normal and many people assumed their normal lives. Argento was going to visit his friend one day until he noticed that something was off with him. Verde seemed like he forgot some things about their childhood, and his behavior was different. He assumed that he was playing around with him, but he was even more concerned when Verde forgot the name of Argen’s siblings, and he smelled different. Verde soon went missing and Argento was concerned. Around town, people were acting odd as well. They smelled different, and they didn’t act like typical Nuantans. Argento and his father were worried, so they were hyper vigilant about who they let inside their home. He and his father brought the issue to the Elders, who told him that he was imagining things.

Argento was out hunting when he came home and his parents were in a panic. His sister, Azule, was missing. They searched for her everywhere and they even consulted the elders help, but she was nowhere to be found. This devastated his family, and he tried his best to help his parents as much as he could. Tragedy hit again when he two younger siblings went missing as well. His parents were sick with fear and anger, not knowing what was going on or where their children went. In a strange turn of events, other people were going missing from the village as well, and some would even return, acting odd and off. Argento approached the Elders with a strange thought, saying that the Makarasans could be kiddnapping people to keep as workers. The elders dismissed him, saying that his paranoia would get the best of him and that he should stop trying to hinder the progression of his race. He was enraged and although he left, he felt that he would have to take things into his own hands. 

Eventually, his youngest sibling was taken as well, and his father went into a deep depression. His mother was distraught as well, and Argento tried his hardest to comfort them, but he knew that there was nothing that could be done. He told his parents that he would return, and he did some spying.

It took some effort, but he hid himself onto a supply wagon that was going into the Makarasan territory. He hid his scent by covering himself in mud, and he snooped around the area. He went deep into the caves, and he saw something disturbing. The Makarasans were harvesting the Nuantans and using them as food and egg incubators. There was another alien race there as well, one that he had never seen before, and they were changing their forms so that they could look like Nuantans. 

When he returned, he came to see that both of his parents were gone. A note said that they were arrested. He was enraged, and he approached the elders, demanding answers. They told him that his parents were arrested for treason, that his mother was giving valuable secrets to the Makarasans enemies, the Shershen’. As much as he tried to ask, the Elders wouldn’t hear any of it. He was thrown out by their Makarasan guards, and his parents were imprisoned. His home was firebombed by villagers and he took refuge in another part of town.

Argento was desperate to save them, and he plotted for months, figuring out ways to save his parents. He was going to give up hope when he saw his mother coming towards him. He couldn’t trust her at first, but he recognized her scent. She looked sick, but he was glad to see her. She said that she didn’t have time, but his father was killed and she wanted her son to know that an event was happening in two days. She gave him a note and told him to take what he found there. 

That night he followed the directions on her note, and he arrived at their most sacred temple. She told him to take the sword of Ebašie because he would need it. He knew that this would be blasphemous, but he did as she said. He took sword and hid it in his tree. People were in an uproar over the missing sword, but he didn’t care. The next night, he took it and he stormed the Elders compound. They were furious, but subdued because of his sword. He was on his way to help his mother, when there was a loud noise. 

From nowhere, these flying aliens with orange wings and armor came into the compound. Argento and his mother were knocked unconscious by rubble. He awoke to his mother trying to wake him and they went to a secret area. When the coast was clear, she led him to her quarters. She had a bundle of something and she tied it tightly to his back. She told him to escape and that she would find him when she could. He didn’t want to leave, but she urged him to go. He used a tunnel that she had and he was out on the ground. He saw these armored warriors attacking his people, but then his people would turn into these horrible creatures. The Makarasans and these changing aliens were tough, and they put up a fight with the armored invaders. Not knowing where to go, Argento hid away in one of these new ships that had been parked on the ground. He hid deep in the back, holding his sword and the package that his mother gave him. What seemed like hours passed, then the armored beings started to retreat. He heard them coming back onto the ship, thinking that they would not find him. Someone grabbed his tail and pulled him out. He tried to fight back, but they were strong. One of them held him up and untied the package from his back. He was shocked to see a small baby, barely a few days old and sleeping peacefully. The invaders said something and they carefully handed the baby back to him. Without a word, they packed their things up and took off. 

They led him to an area where he spoke with yet another new alien race. They happened to know his language, and they explained that they were Amaranians; he was afraid, but relieved. He explained everything to them and they wrote down what he said. They informed him that he and this baby would have to take a medical exam because they were hungry and thirsty. He reluctantly agreed, but soon he let them take the baby. 

It took them days, but they were reunited. He was given a place to stay on this planet. He asked the lady what had happened, and she explained to him that The Shershen’ or the armored aliens were informed of a major harvesting operation that was going on in his planet. The Makarasans were using Nuantans as hosts for their race and they were using a shapeshifting race to hide what they were doing. He asked her if his planet would be okay, and she said that they were going to do their best to save as many people as possible. Before he left, he asked her about the sword, and she told him that it was created from the armor and skin of a past Shershen’ queen. They would never attack something so valuable, which is why they left him alone. He thanked her and asked her about what he should do. She said that he should do his best to keep his sister safe, and that everything will be okay. 

It has been years since that has happened, but Argento made a peaceful life on this new planet. He made some new friends and he has raised his sister to the best of his abilities. He still wonders if his mother is waiting for him and he hopes to go back to his planet whenever he can.

Appearance: Argento is a Male Nuantan, and his most distinctive characteristic are his 3 inch long canine teeth. Nuantans have yellow sclera, large eyes, large rotating ears, and 2 pairs of eyebrows. He is noted for having a serious case of “Resting Jerk Face”, but he’s actually really nice once he trusts you. Due to a genetic anomaly, he has pine green fur, red hair, and silver colored eyes. He is about 6'9 and 270lbs, but he spends most of his time in a crouched position, which gives him a slight slouch. His arms and legs are a bit longer than normal, and they are tipped in strong, highlighter green fingernails. His feet and hands look alike, but his most distinctive aspect is his prehensile tail, that is as long as his own body. He’s usually seen wearing some combat armor that he found, but most of the time he wears tank tops and capris.

Personality: Due to past trauma, Argento is a person who finds it hard to trust others. He can be paranoid at times, and he can be really defensive of his baby sister. When he gains enough trust from someone and he sees that they are not a threat to him or his sister, he opens up.

He’s had to take on both parental rolls in his life, so at times he can be very protective of his friends and he can nurture them at the same time. He is a quick thinker and he will try to keep his friends together. He believes in honor and he feels that betrayal should be paid for in death.

Favourite & Least Favourite things: Favorites: He loves hanging out with his baby sister, being high up in the trees, and living in this new planet. He also likes his new friend, Hilkutxa. Least Favorites: He’s not much of a talker. He’s always been like that, and he can hold a conversation for a while, but other than that he would rather let his actions do the talking.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Physical Strengths: From years of practice, Argento is an expert sword-fighter. He also has natural abilities of enhanced sight, hearing, strength, and dexterity. Strengths: He is a very caring person. He risked his life to save his sisters, and he does his best to raise her even though he feels that he’s not equipped to do so. He’s also starting to welcome the thought of help from outside races. Weaknesses: Unlike many of the species out there, Nuantans have normal physiology. If you were to shoot him or maim him, he’s out for the count.

Another weakness is that he’s really bad at speaking English. He speaks 3 alien languages, but he can’t pick up a universal one. Also, he’s paranoid at times. If he can’t trust someone, he will nearly kill them so that they can leave.

Smiling is really common on his planet. It represents trust and respect. He’s not much of a smiler on this new planet, but he tries.

His sword is ironic because it was created by their god. It was the only weapon on his planet.

Most of the time, his baby sister, Griis, is seen clinging to his back fur.

He does like that he and his friend, Kutxa, have the same haircut.

Speaking of his hair, because he is an exile, he had to cut it. It use to go down past his butt.

His name, in his language, translates to “The pale eyed one”.

As far as his English goes, he can say “Yes”, “No”, “They are my friends”, and “I can hear you”.

Biography: Mako lost his parents and his right arm to a shark attack at a very young age. He was found by a volcanic spirit who saw a vulnerable, dying child. She gifted him a new arm and a new eye (he was blind in his left eye since birth) made of gold and stone. She guided him towards a community of other mermaids where he was adopted by a family. He grew up on hearing stories about humans from the spirit, who he continued to visit, and became fascinated with humans. He would go through sunken ships to explore and find interesting things to take home. One day he watches a ship as it sinks, and while exploring the interior, he finds someone who isn’t dead. He saves the man and secretly leaves food for him until he’s discovered. 

Appearance: As a merman, his skin was pale green, which helped him blend into the water, but his tail was a deep royal blue (genetics received from his mother) and unusually long. He had short, dark brown hair that was cut regularly with a dagger, leaving it uneven. He had plenty of sharp, tough teeth and curved claws on both hands. His scales went up his sides and faded away. He had very strong arm(s) from handling weapons. His right eye was brown/bronze and his left was bright gold and glowed. His right arm was (still is) made entirely of black volcanic rock (obsidian). His veins/arteries were replaced by liquid gold that cycles through the arm and traveled into his body through the visible yellow veins on his shoulder. His fingers end in curled claws.

Personality: He’s gullible and empathetic, but also selfish and stubborn. He tends to put his own interests before his friends’ (and his community’s) safety. He has an insatiable curiosity and fascination with humans, and is brave to the point of recklessness. He’s very impulsive and trusting. As an outsider within a such a tightknit community, he puts in extra effort to prove his worth, but is attention-starved and craves friendship. In the end of the story, he is a bit more sarcastic and sardonic than before. He has become slightly jaded, seeing the faults in both his idolized humans and bitter from the way his colony treated him. He’s still reckless and impulsive, but more likely to help people.

Favourite & Least Favourite things: He likes music (as a human), exploring, listening to stories, colors, and shiny things. He hates guns, sharks, and being ignored.

Strengths and Weaknesses: He’s horribly impulsive and quite selfish, but has a strong sense of empathy. His right arm is tough and can withstand most attacks, and it can be used as a conduit for electricity. His left eye allows him to see in the dark.

Additional notes: As stated above, Mako is a revamped version of a canon character from a fanfic that I am turning into a novel. The story is a sci-fi romance loosely based on The Little Mermaid set on a far off planet. There’s no blog set up as of yet, but hopefully there will be soon. :)

Her Story: Ys is an enigma. Few know of her existence. Only a handful have seen her. She is a mystery, and a danger. She is a boon, and a prize. She is the last Enchantress, and that knowledge tends to make those around her uneasy. Bounty hunters, businessmen, even scholars frequent her home of the Naiwood, searching for this mythical girl, trying to see for themselves (or take for themselves) the power of the Enchantress. She has her fun by leading them around in circles through the woods, changing the natural environment drastically with her seemingly unlimited power over nature.

Enchanters are an ancient strain of mages who, rather than bending the energy within the elements, bend the energy that shaped reality itself. The rareness of Enchanters and the power the possessed secured them a high place in humanoid society after The One War. Their mind boggling magic brought about innumerable magical and technological advances. But their power over other mages led to fear and jealously. A certain old world emperor named Saorim began the 2000 year process of wiping out all Enchanters on the planet. It began with forced imbuing. Enchanters were forced to imbue weapons and other man-made objects with magical power, the cost being their body and soul. When this proved too slow a process, Enchanters were instead killed on sight. Not one Enchanter has walked Terra Alta since then for 1000 years. 

And then Ys was born.
