- leave stacks of books around your room

- pin up pages from an old textbook, diagrams of plants, sketches

- have a candle or two ready to light

- hang a sweater on a nearby chair/bedpost/etc.

- pin up old photographs/polaroids of the people you love or your favorite memories

- record players are pricey so if you want something cute and affordable you can get a cassette player and some old cassette tapes for cheap from amazon/a thrift store

- set some plants on your window sill: basil, cacti, roses, flowers from the park

- write your favorite quotes or lines of poetry on sticky notes and stick them around your room

- put an old clock on your desk/side table/chest of drawers/on the wall

- have odd light fixtures like a lantern/mason jar filled with fairy lights/a unique lamp

- leave your everyday bag (preferably brown leather/messenger bag/neutral tones) hanging on the knob of your closet door or on a chair
