I had an abortion when I was a teenager. #youknowme. I went on to finish college. Go to law school. Work in the Justice space. I met my partner and went on to have three kids. The bans we are seeing in places likes Georgia & Alabama are designed specifically to challenge #Roe. They are designed specifically to disenfranchise poor, Black & Brown people. They are designed specifically to force more white women to have babies. They are designed to reinforce gender roles and keep women subservient to men. They are designed specifically to maintain the status quo. A bigger list coming soon. 2) If you live in a state passing a restrictive abortion law CALL YOUR REPS nonstop! 3) Pay attention to federal judicial appointments & call your senators to tell them to vote no if the judge is anti-choice. 4) Tell your story if you are comfortable. Use the #youknowme hashtag. We should have to lay bare our personal lives… yet here we are. Our stories are powerful & normalize abortion & reproductive care.
