been thinking lots about the go3 finale and how much i love it over the last few weeks but also about how i can’t think of a different/better ending.
they make a massive point about how they could run off somewhere together, and people wanted an ending where aziraphale and crowley live in the cottage together as immortals/same as they were. sure but then what? and how? hell and heaven still exist and so do all the same problems: you can’t change a rigged system, they will always be thirsty for an apocalypse, humans lives are in the hands of god not themselves etc. they said they wouldn’t ever be happy knowing that was going on and they were doing nothing to stop it.
i think their selfless act sums up their characters perfectly, how much they care for people, and that they would give up what they have just to give them a proper chance at living. plus without knowing, giving a chance to two versions of themselves that can live without worry, just as peacefully as a human can live.
i keep thinking of other endings but keep hitting problems that they mention in the finale. i truly truly adore the ending. to know that there’s forever a past life within you guiding the way is beautiful <3
