Deep in southern Chile lies the Montaña Mágica Lodge (Magic Mountain Lodge). An extraordinary hotel hidden in the center of a 300,000 acre private nature reserve. The small, 13 room hotel is built in the shape of a volcano that spews water instead of lava. The exterior is covered in rainforest moss and vines and its entrance is only accessible via a suspended, swinging rope bridge. The outdoor hot tubs are carved from the trunks of giant trees. The lodge is located in Los Rios which is within the stunning Huilo-Huilo Unesco biosphere reserve, 242 square miles of lush nature, filled with wildlife.

When I went to high school on the Oregon Coast (Newport), Travis, myself and a select group of friends obtained a key to an A-frame rental home in Beverly Beach where we would make pot cookies and watch television. We never partied or destroyed/damaged anything at all. It was odd, but we literally went there to smoke marijuana as a safe haven. It overlooked the Pacific Ocean and there was this little black cat the frequented the balcony often. There was a loft and a basement and it was so spacious and quaint. Plus, those memories I hold dear to my heart because it was an experience that helped blossom the love Travis and I have for each other. We’d wake up in the morning after a long night of getting high and laughing together, and simply go home. Marvelous, really. Love in an A-Frame house. Huh. Gotta love that. :)
