I'm still stuck on Janus' reaction to being outed in wids. In past episodes, when he's revealed as an imposter he goes on the offensive, trying to convince Thomas he has no morality in clbg, and literally putting himself in the role of a prosecutor in svs. Even in putting others first, he's put in the position of attacking Patton in order to protect Thomas. But now he's trying to be a part of the group, instead of fighting against it. So what does he do to try and keep the peace when his past self is revealed to have impersonated Patton?

"So, Thomas. Been a hot second since seeing you without facial hair."

He deflects. He tries to change the subject, keep the peace the only way he knows how. It's inelegant, a clumsy attempt to obfuscate, but it's what he knows.

He sobers almost immediately when the others brush his words off. They aren't going to let him breeze past it, so he tries something new. Honesty. Some of it, at least. Explains his reasons for doing things, admits to being wrong. And shockingly, it works. There are some hurt feelings, sure, but he isn't outright rejected or shunned. They hear him out, for the most part, and move on. Patton asks him not to impersonate him anymore. Gives him the chance to do better.
