âI become a mermaid to swim in the depth of your heartđ⌠so I can dig up shadow work for you! đâ
This is an absolutely goofy idea. I got a message from Loki during meditation that he wants me to draw him as a mermaid. So I draw him as one. I doubted a lil bit while sketching as this is so silly. But at the moment I drew mermaid feature on him, the joyous energy which is the same as the first time I drew him as a very hot boy appeared again. He is so happy that he gets the silly drawing that he wants 𼴠Itâs so much fun for me to try make this idea work too.
When I was finishing the drawing up, I felt that something was missing. And then he demands the seashell party hat with chiffon. It doesnât make any sense at first but when I added it, I realized it is indeed the thing thatâs missing. So, thanks for the idea, Loki đ§đťââď¸đ§Ą Another fun fact, despite he is a mermaid here, the color is inspired by the flame on his candle haha.
Also, I would like to rant about salmon here.
Yesterday, I learned about different fishes used in sushi during the Japanese cuisine course. One fish the lecturer mentioned is salmon. Although he hasn't talked about salmon in detail this lesson, he brought up some interesting facts about salmon. In sushi, there're "red bodied" fish (辤躍), "white bodied" fish (ç˝čşŤ), and "silver-skinned" fish (ĺ çŠ). Salmon is one of the "red bodied" fish in sushi. However, if you consider the biological definition of the term (hemogolbin, myoglobin-> makes the meat red), salmon is actually a "white bodied" fish, despite it looks really red. Then I think about the fact that salmon is a sea fish that is born from the lake, making it the only sea fish that is unsafe to eat it raw (cultivated fish is fine I guess). This is indeed THE FISH that is the most suitable for Loki. This is definitely NOT a coincidence that he transformed into a salmon in the myth
Additionally, despite the popularity of salmon sushi in Japan, it is the only sushi (at least from what I know) that is NOT from Japan. The Norwegian invented the salmon sushi and brought it to Japan, in order to try sell their salmon to the Japanese. Isnât it surprising that thereâs a norse background for salmon sushi? Maybe Loki is the one who invented it! Who knows. He may be the God of salmon sushi too đĽ´đđđ Thatâs why he claimed the salmon sushi plush haha. If youâre interested, you can see it on photos of his altar đđ¤Ş
Finally, hereâs a song for this drawing. Enjoy. đ¤Şđ I hope the drawing is inspiring for you lmao

The Gods are Love, The Gods are Light, The Gods are Joy
Iâve been off Tumblr so long I forgot to mention... I actually have a new Polytheist blog as of this year. Itâs quite âwooâ at times, be forewarned. Egyptian Djehuty (Thoth) is in my life now, along with more Norse Gods and Goddesses, so there is that too.Â
No Longer On Tumblr Much: Contact Information/E-mail
Iâm on Tumblr less and less now, but am still very happy to try to answer questions or to hear from you, especially if you are interested in anything Frisian and/or the God Forseti.
My best contact is [email protected]. Iâd ask that you please use this instead of Tumblr messaging now. Tumblr messaging never seems to work right and I honestly have no idea if some of the people who sent questions ever got a reply. So... e-mail is always best!
Full disclosure: I am a devotional Polytheist and a mystic. My relationships with the Gods are based far more on ecstatic practice and on gnosis than on anything else. I am also, by choice and in accordance with the path my Gods have laid down for me, a solitary practitioner and most emphatically not a part of any organized spiritual group, be it Pagan, Heathen, or otherwise.Â
Beautiful Artwork Of Baldr And Other Norse Gods By Milbeth Morillo
I was, ahem, âinstructedâ to update one of my altar pictures today. Searching for a new piece, I found an artist who is new to me, Milbeth Morillo, and ordered a print. Here is a stunning example of the artistâs work, âBaldr the god of light.â And here is a more general link for their Redbubble account (which allows you to use Amazon information to make purchases):Â

Five serving dishes on the main table, filled with cookies, chocolates, and cake. Jewelry, shells, flowers, candles, and crystals decorate the table. There is a small drawer in the table where I store literature about Norse paganism.Â
This shelf is reserved for Baldr alone, while the main table is offered to Nanna and Forseti as well as Baldr. A glass of wine, a painting, my most beautiful crystal, and a lucky trinket given to me by my mother (a small white cat).
âRavensâ - A Song By The Frisian-language Band âBaldrs Draumarâ
âNine worlds, nine cold nights... two ravens fly one by one, black... their majestic wings course through the sky... nine skies around one great Tree...
Midgard, look above! Two ravens fly over your skies! A sign of the gift of the Godsâ language spoken! They whisper the secrets of the world in Wedaâs (Odinâs) ears, of how theyâll fly out again on the coming day.â

âThree roots, three sources, the treasures of life from each blooming twig... fate is spun from the three Norns, and Hugin and Munin bring the news... Hugin and Munin, where are you now? Thoughts and memories, come back to me again!â

Let me ask you a question: how would you like it if someone compared interacting with you and your closest, oldest friends as ârunning a daycareâ? How would you like it if your kindest impulses and most heart-felt disclosures were met with constant suspicion?Â
Iâm writing this on the day of the week named after a God I hold very, very dear, second only to my Patron Himself. Wodan, the God against Whom everyone seems to have an axe to grind. Yes, there is a time and a place to be careful. But Iâm going to call it as I see it: I think this attitude can go way too far. And that it has in modern Pagan practice.
How about approaching Them in trust? How about assuming that if you speak to Them with an open heart and offer the smallest offering (say, a simple candle and a prayer) with an open heart, They will return your blessing a thousandfold? That if something else is out to deceive you in Their name, They will come through for you?
How about assuming that our Gods are actual Gods, and not dead memories on a dusty shelf?
I started off with this assumption knowing next to nothing of Polytheism at the end of 2010. Iâm still here writing in 2018. This ânaiveâ assumption has served me very well.Â
Set aside the skeptical, so-called âwisdomâ of your âfellow Pagansâ for a moment. Trust what your own heart is telling you. Trust it deeply. And--even if itâs only as a month-long thought experiment--try trusting in Them deeply.
The world is rapidly changing. The Veil is shredded (link). Just maybe, against everything youâve ever heard before... this will be the time to finally thrive.Â
My own photography: Helgoland, Germany, taken 2018. The islandâs cattle were once sacred to Fosite (Forseti) and it was nice to see a small herd grazing in the fields north of town. The third picture here was taken from the island of DĂźne, which was connected to Helgoland until just under three hundred years ago, when a storm surge separated the two islands.
