Transitioning as a queer person is crazy, isn't? I take estrogen and, until the end of last year, identified as a trans woman. Currently, I see my gender specifically as "queer", and "butch" — and that's awesome! I still see myself as a girl, but in a way that I wouldn't identify as a "trans woman", because I know people wouldn't understand the true meaning behind what I mean. And all of this ends up becoming more fun and silly because I'm a lesbian, not in the "wlw" sense of the term, but rather as a dyke, and this directly affects how I relate to my gender, my expression, my life, and my self-determination. Being queer will always be, beyond all its political and non-assimilationist baggage, a silly and incredible experience.
