The 100th game, the quarter quell.

As if the Games weren't twisted enough, the Faceless Ones had come up with something even more terrible.

Two sets of tributes. One set from the districts' folk, one set from the existing pool of victors.

The towanfolk had no chance.

It's not only the biggest arkco fic but the biggest witch hat fic ever (last time I checked)

"Get him out of here!" Her mother screamed, holding her adoptive brother in her arms.

Her father, smiling, was dragged away by the policemen. Smiling at his daughter, at what he believed to be the younger version of himself.

One place where this didn't apply was public healthcare.

Sure, she usually went to a neat private clinic with the most expensive specialists in the field that always took a good chunk of her money.

So for example, Trinity's strongest feeling is shame, even though it's a hidden one. She's ashamed of her prickly personality, she's ashamed of her past, she's ashamed of her scars, of her fears and needs and wants. She's chronically ashamed, only she doesn't let it show, hiding it behind a façade of cocky bravado.

Her avatar would be an outside expression of this shame, acting timid, ashamed, withdrawn.

For Trinity I'm thinking Monkey-eating eagle, native to the Philippines, one of the rarest raptors. It's an endangered species of large bird of prey. Fast and agile flight despite its huge size and rather creative in the smart way.

Barans is anger. She's angry at the universe for sticking her with her condition, she's angry with prejudiced people, she's angry her parents had to run away from their home country because of stupid people's war, she's angry her husband turned out to be right when he said he can tell Baran isn't into him, she's angry she couldn't love him because she likes women instead. She's angry at so many things. And despite her internalised hatred, she is such a positive person. She tries her hardest to be kind, to not let her anger consume her and burn those around her.

For Baran, I've settled on Arabian Oryx. It's a bovid, an antelope known for its pretty white coat and long straight horns. They're known to be adaptable and fairly unaggressive, choosing to fight only when resource guarding. They don't usually fight even when there's two males competing for a hierarchical position. It's done by posturing instead. So having this Orynx be a manifestation of Baran's anger is super interesting as it's not in their nature.
