    “mine too!” holly enthused, beaming at izzie. it truly was, she’d always loved christmas, naturally, and it only felt that bit better when she was sharing that christmas spirit with somebody else. it seemed as if izzie was just as enthusiastic as she was…and how could she turn down cookies? they were one of the best parts of the season, after all. “i would never turn down a cookie, especially a homemade one! do you bake a lot?”

❝     i love snow!  there’s something so ... magical about it.     ❞     sure,  it hasn’t always been like this;  as a kid she never looked forward because being poor and living in a trailer park meant that whenever there was snow it was quickly starting to become really cold.  she only started to appreciate it after she moved away from home.  the way it turns everything into a winter wonderland,  glittering and glimmering in the sunlight.   plus,  it gets her in a christmas-y mood.     ❝     i’m hoping for a white christmas this year.     ❞

❝     come on,  alex,  don’t be such a grinch.     ❞     her tone is mostly light and joking,  although the meaning behind her words are serious.   she gets it that he isn’t as big into christmas as she is  (  because barely anyone she knows her age is  )  but maybe she was hoping for a little more effort from him.   it is her favorite holiday after all,  and this is the first time they truly get a chance to spend it together.  it’s supposed to be special.     ❝     i promise i’ll repay you later if you help me with all of this now.     ❞
