you don't know me and idk if you still like mcyt and philza and stuff, but I actually cried when I saw your phil design using a crutch because I use them occasionally and I feel really self conscious about it, and I've never seen Phil with mobility aids and he's one of my comfort streamers and yeah- I cried 👍

I’m sorry if this answer is stupidly long but Anon, please don’t ever feel bad about simply saying hello. It’s always nice to see someone who is curious or amicable enough to start a conversation, that’s how you make friends! :)

Thank you for enjoying my Philza design by the way, I greatly enjoy adding levels of realism into settings even if they have fantasy elements as I find it makes for more interesting storytelling and characters and can help make them feel more grounded and relatable. For Philza, the use of mobility devices seemed appropriate and realistic as his balance is probably all to whack due to his wing injuries. It would be perfectly normal and reasonable for him to use them.

I may not use mobility devices myself (so I apologise if I ever depict something incorrectly) but I am surrounded by those that do. My cousin spent almost 10 years of her life with casts and cages around her legs, one of my childhood besties was a ambulatory wheelchair user and wore orthotics, my dad is disabled and uses grabs and handrails around the house, I worked in care for all of the Covid pandemic etc.

Obviously, I can’t instil confidence in you and you will only ever feel comfortable about your own mobility aids when your ready to be comfortable with them but I did just want to emphasise that your still just a person. There are countless people in the world, in just your home city alone who will use mobility aids, they’re just regular people. Not everyone is going to be as used to disabled people as myself but to me, a person using a walker has the same impact on my perception of them as if they had some cool shoes on.

I can’t fully comment of Twitter as I haven’t properly touched that website since 2012 and have only lurked at certain topics when they’ve been brought to my attention by others - what I do know though is that there isn’t a very good filtering and blocking system so it is a lot harder to avoid upsetting content

Tumblr however has quite a good filtering system that makes blocking users or certain content very easy provided they have been tagged correctly (note: censoring tags with symbols is actively unhelpful as it prevents people’s blocked tags from working, just use the actual tag please) - if people post content that you don’t like or agree with it is not their fault, they could be the scum of the earth for all I care but their content is their content and they are unfortunately free to post whatever they want - but no, it is your fault if you fail to block users or content that bothers you, tumblr has a multitude of tools that you can use to tailor your experience and keep your dash safe and drama free - use them

quite frankly i find it just embarrassing that people go out of their way to keep tabs on users and content that they actively dislike or on those that have you blocked, it’s genuinely unhealthy behaviour and it shouldn’t in any way be encouraged. you can disagree with a person and still be civil with them by engaging in polite discussion or just blocking them or the specific tags that upset you

additionally with the drama yesterday I think it’s also important to note that you can be friends or mutual with someone and still not agree with everything they say, I follow several people of whom post content I dislike or opinions I find a bit dramatic but at the end of the day who cares? people can have different opinions or stances on things and still get along, I can block the tags they use for content they post that I don’t want to see, I can unfollow and block them later if I so choose etc
