       his fingers however quickly rummage about in his satchel- pulling out the book to offer to her with an unsure smile. eyes switching between her and the untouched plate of food- it always seemed the same routine, like this.  

she gratefully accepts the text, a genuine interest in starting to read it welling up ( ah, but she had to resist! readying the prey must come first, after all ). lithe digits run over the cover with a gentle hand, feeling the grooves formed from the imprinted title with delicate grace. it was new and yet it was already thoroughly bookmarked throughout. 

❛ It’s alright! I can wait till after you’re done-- besides, I won’t be able to put it down until I’m done if I start now. Ah, actually... ❜ gaze lowers in the slightest, as though she’s almost embarrassed ( funny how they fell for it every time ).
