Only One Peej

1. Guards! Guards!- might be my favorite so it gets first place. I love meeting Vimes and Sybil. I love the dragon and the ideas of kingship.

2. Feet of Clay- Honestly it’s such a close call between this one and Men at Arms. This one only wins out because the questions of personhood and the creepiness of the golems have haunted me long after I finished this one. Also meeting a character called “Visit-The-Infidel-With-Explanatory-Pamphlets” was hilarious even if I am religious myself.

3. Men at Arms-Explores violence, power, and kingship…also introduces my favorite cast members including Angua. It loses none of the momentum from guards! guards! and has a great mystery.

4. Fifth Elephant- so many factors I hated (especially the Igor plot which I really disliked but also vampires which I dislike), yet somehow I loved this one!

5. Night Watch- it’s a good story but I can’t get past my dislike of time travel. The Vetinari parts made it worth it to me.

6. Jingo- I don’t like this one at all. Not even a little bit. I felt like Sybil’s character wasn’t done justice and the whole book felt preachy but not in a clear direction. I literally forced myself through it and only finished it because of Carrot and Angua.

I am a little over halfway through my first pregnancy. Admittedly, I have not handled pregnancy as well as I thought I would, mentally or physically. As I write, I’m missing church again because of sickness and longing for the days that I feel like myself again.
