He hated it so much. All of it.
Even though such a response should have been expected from the Vessalius, Glen felt himself sinking further into despair as his old 'friend' smiled at him, despite what Jack had done, what he was about to do. It was horrifying. The Baskerville duke had not felt such a powerful swell of rage in so long. It clouded his mind, giving him a furious mentality that had him lose all mercy, all kindness.
He could not believe that Jack was still keeping up that act of his, after all that time-- they had spent too long behaving like this. Glen had needed someone to depend on so long ago, as he had known instinctually that there was something he was missing; but now... now that he'd seen what Jack had done, and what he was capable of, he felt as though perhaps he had finally understood a bit more about the man that had always been such a mystery.
“I wonder how long you’ve wanted to do this. If you wanted to kill me so badly, then you should have just said so, Glen!”
He remained silent, features turning to a hard frown while his gaze remained wintry. His amaranthine eyes stared at the blonde in a steely manner, when finally he spoke, voice harsh in the quiet night -- but his mind was abuzz.
"You lied to me... all along, it was a lie."
His grip on the hilt of his apparently sharp sword tightened with anger as the emotions that he had kept pent up inside for so very long finally rolled out, being delivered in a furious storm.
He saw the attack coming and dove out of the way, stepping back as Jack's weapon sliced at him, only skimming by the front of his cloak. Glen was unable to tell if he had been wounded, but at least for the moment, it seemed that things were alright.
“I’m curious, Glen, why do you think it’s too late?”
"Tch..." by that point, he glared unrelentlessly at the green-eyed man. Pulling up his weapon, he readied for another attack. "You have quite the gall, asking me such a question.. Yet you only intend to bring Lacie back! I can't allow you to do that..!"
He lunged forward quickly, swinging the sword smoothly. He hardly noticed that it did, in fact, feel a little heavier than it should have. Foolishly blinded by anger, Glen was still convinced by the illusions.
He fought harder than he ever had before, trying desperately to continuously dodge Jack's attacks, twisting and parrying fluidly. His rage had somehow concentrated his wrath, making him bolder than normal in terms of fighting-- but perhaps it also weakened him by making him more open to attacks. Glen wasn't even thinking by then, he only moved by instinct, as was only natural.
