In a major breakthrough in the Pahalgam terror attack case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two men for harbouring the terrorists who had carried out the horrendous attack that killed 26 innocent tourists and grievously injured 16 others.

The two men - Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar from Batkote, Pahalgam and Bashir Ahmad Jothar of Hill Park, Pahalgam - have disclosed the identities of the three armed terrorists involved in the attack, and have also confirmed that they were Pakistani nationals affiliated to the proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This finding contradicts earlier sketches released by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which had suggested the involvement of a local Kashmiri. So NO LOCAL Kashmiri was involved in the attack.

Parvaiz and Bashir had knowingly harboured the three armed terrorists at a seasonal dhok (hut) at Hill Park before the attack, as per NIA investigations. The two men had provided food, shelter and logistical support to the terrorists, who had, on the fateful afternoon, selectively killed the tourists on the basis of their religious identity, making it one of the most gruesome terrorist attacks ever.

On Jyeshta Shukla Paksha Ekadashi (Rukmini Haran Ekadashi), the divine wedding of Shri Jagannath and Shri Mahalakshmi Rukmini is celebrated every year inside the Shrimandir (Jagannath Mandir), Puri Dham.

The mufti refuted the man and said no women cannot be made slaves anymore because the “world” does not agree to it anymore but you can still gauge the mentality that these people have towards Indians or non muslims. They carry out these intentions on the non Islamic minorities present in their country. Okay so today I came across this beautiful festival of Bengali culture: Jamai Sasthi, a day dedicated to pampering and honoring the son-in-law. He is invited to his in-laws' home and treated as the guest of honor, showered with affection, elaborate feasts, and gifts. This reinforces his importance within the family and strengthens his relationship with his wife's parents.

Mothers-in-law perform special rituals (puja) and tie a sacred thread (sasthi sutra) on their sons-in-law's wrists, praying for their good health, prosperity, longevity, and success, as well as for the well-being of their daughters.

I wished this to mother today to kind of tease her but what she said in response actually melted my heart, her reaction goes like this "oh is it? Okay so what do I have to do today to celebrate this with him?"

When I was growing up, one of my good friends was Persian Zoroastrian.

Her parents had barely escaped Iran with their lives after Ayatollah Khomeini hijacked Iran and enslaved the Iranian people. The extreme discrimination against the Zoroastrians, the indigenous people of Iran, became life threatening for them, and they had to flee. The Islamic Regime froze their assets in Iran, and they came to America with a few suitcases and the clothes on their backs. They were never able to get their assets -- Khomeini's thugs stole everything they had. My friend's parents had been university professors in Iran. Now they were refugees.

I will always remember when one of the teachers in my grade school asked my friend's mom to bring in a favorite religious holiday from Iran. The teacher was just trying to find ways to teach the class about religious traditions that weren't Christian (Southwest Ohio is pretty much an Evangelical monoculture), but my friend's mom froze in place and looked horrified. She was having flashbacks to hiding who she was from Islamists. Finally, she mentioned something about growing a small container of grass and placing it on a table as a tradition that the class could do to celebrate. I didn't realize until later, but she was describing growing sabzeh for Nowruz.

It always stuck with me how scared my friend's mom looked. I didn't understand the extent of the persecution she had faced in Iran for being Zoroastrian. She didn't like to talk much about what she had been through. And that was mostly before the Islamofascist Revolution. The religious persecution got intolerably worse after Khomeini hijacked the country, and that's when she and her husband ran with the clothes on their backs.

So when Jews, Zoroastrians, and Hindus say we are uniting against Islamofascist MONSTERS who want to slaughter us all, we know EXACTLY what we are talking about.

We will outlive them.

Actually solah shringar was never compulsory. They were just way for women to look pretty that's all. I don't know why it became compulsory. Because there is no scripture that said it is compulsory. Well we have a habit of taking everything to extreme so well...yeah, and also patriarchy. Men also had their own ways of Shringar which no one talks about. Like the tilak, Kajal (Anjana), Grooming practices for hair and beard, Pagdi, uttaariya (actually the way you drape them also talks about your identity), ornaments, perfumes etc. All of these were shringar but well we stopped giving importance to it because well they 'get in the way' and also thanks to shift in our perspective of masculinity.

And when it comes to symbol of marriage I think we have 2 major symbols of marriage for women that is mangalasutra and sindoor and I think the rest are region or culture specific. For example, the bangles thing where you have to wear it for some amount of days is not followed in a lot of south indian traditions in the same way the toe rings is also very culture specific. But the mangalsutra and sindoor is something that is noticed in every culture. So these 2 are the symbols ( if there are more than that then I'm sorry I just wrote from what I understood and read).

And there are symbols for men too. Like the man is supposed to be wearing six strings of yagnopavitam/ janeu at his marriage. Like when he is a bachelor he wears 3 strings. At the time of marriage they add 3 more strings. so total 6. and then at the birth of the first child he has to add 3 more strings to his janeu which makes it 9. So yeah technically there is a symbol for marriage and back then they used to wear only one cloth around their upper body making it visible but later it got covered which change in dressing styles.

I just think that these symbols of marriage had reasons behind it. I am not sure the exact reason for sindoor tho but on a very meaningful reason is to say that she married so no way you could hit on her. Just like how today we wanna wear wedding rings to give out a message that they are taken or married. And the janeu is for men. looking at their janeu people must recognise that this is a married man, or a married man with kids. But later with rise in patriarchy and bit of masala from invasions they just became rigid, imposing, senseless traditions. Oh yeah, based on the region ( I'll speak of South India because I'm more familiar with it) few culture have toes rings for men too, which were later given up because well....shoes. and also few culture have a wedding ring of sort that the man wears which is gifted by the father of the bride.
