Expel the Demon (Vice Commander)!

To make a long story short, I rewatched the Katsugeki /Touken Ranbu anime and got thrown back into Hakuouki. (Izuminokami Kanesada is my favourite sword boy and he belonged to Hijikata Toshizou who just happened to be my favourite Hakuouki character.) I used to be really invested in the series about a decade ago, so now I’m replaying the 3DS game and getting invested in it again.

The snow, fluttering, was illuminated by the moon’s light as it fell…like cherry blossoms flowering out of season. Metamorphose Hakuouki collab in Hakuouki themed outfit - boy’s side (?) and girl’s side. This is the second Halloween outfit! I coorded this piece in an outfit inspired by Hakuouki’s protagonist, Yukimura Chizuru. The left outfit is more of a boyish take as Chizuru dresses like a man for most of the game. You can really see the influence of her (western) outfit design on Meta’s dress. You could say it’s a bit of a couple’s outfit, but not really. I played Hakuouki a couple years ago, motivated mostly because after seeing this design and falling in love with it, I felt like I needed to play the inspiration also. But I actually do like otome games, even though they’re usually super cheesy. Chizuru is a fairly useless character the whole game (and I can’t help but wonder where Nakazawa Koto - badass real-life female captain of the Shinsengumi - is…. obviously removed due to plot), but I still enjoyed it for what it was. In any case, the east-meets-west inspirations of this design are really cool, with a slight masculine edge. I really like the cut, and it is very eye catching to wear.
