“Half-sister.” Veronica folded her arms, eyes fixated on Hermosa “And I had my reasons.”

Kevin gave Betty a look.

“Well it was nice to meet you, Hermosa.” Betty bade goodbye. “C’mon guys.”

“Bye babe,” Archie kissed Veronica's forehead before following the rest of the gang.

Now that they were alone, Veronica said nothing, arms still folded.

“Before you yell at me,” Hermosa held up the brown paper bag she was holding. “You didn't stay for breakfast today, so I thought I'd bring you lunch.”

Veronica gave her a sarcastic smile, “Awww, that's so nice of you.”

Hermosa sighed, rolling her eyes at her.

“Why do you and Daddy insist on butting into my life, huh? Did he put you up to this?” Veronica asked.

“No,” Hermosa shook her head, “I just wanted to do something considerate for my sister. But I guess nothing I do is enough for you.”

Veronica grabbed her sister's arm before she could walk away. “I don't like you coming to my school and talking to my friends… but thank you.” She took the brown paper bag.

Hermosa’s frown melted. “Oh Hermani-” She reached out for a hug.

“Don’t push it.” Veronica stepped aside and opened her locker.

“Okay. See you at home?”
