A Pound Of Flesh

I do NOT understand people that want to “save” villains or safe-zone them to “misunderstood babies that just need to fall in love to make it better and therefore be easier to approach.” Do you not understand how much more delicious is it to be bad with no apology? How necessary it is to have a pure polar opposite to heroes and anti-heroes?  Are you forgetting the whole reason you chose a villain as your favorite character was in part, that they WERE bad? Unless a villain is written originally as sympathetic, and the author meant it so, it’s utterly selfish and demeaning to take away their darker aspects to “redeem them.” They may have moments of intimacy with favorites and tender spots for some rare people, but to everyone else, (which is 99% of the world) they will keep doing what they do best, and that’s to fuck everything up and burn the world down. Lover with pillow talk after, or not. And more the better if the special favorites can be brought to THEIR side, or look the other way when they go rogue. Baddies are supposed to be “bad” to show by comparative example:

NOT meant to be emulated or admired. (What does it matter, people gloss over the real horror of some villains to admire one or two good flecks of persona over the mountain of evil that is actually quite TERRIBLE for the world, the fan included.)

The scariest parts of us: the viewer, reader, fan if we “let it go that far,”  but can’t face or admit.

JUST TO BE “BAD” FOR “BAD’S” SAKE NO ALTERNATIVE REASON OTHER THAN THEY UNAPOLOGETICALLY LOVE DOING WHAT THEY DO AND DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK AND HOW THEY CAN BE SAVED IN YOUR WARPED LITTLE LUST FILLED MIND BECAUSE TO BE A GOODY-GOODY IS TO BE THE ANTITHESIS OF THEIR BEING AND THEREFORE SICK AND WRONG TO THEM.
