Oh, these trends... I’ve had that original photo (the one where the girl censors herself with hand shadows) in my bookmarks for over a year now. I thought about drawing it ages ago, but it seemed kind of boring at the time, so I just kept putting it off... and putting it off... and putting it off. And then, well—look at that! I guess I’ll never truly understand what’s going to blow up and what isn't

​I whipped this piece up in what... 2 hours!! Wild. Turns out I actually can draw fast. I’m shocked. Maybe next time I’ll draw a "best girl" in the canon version of the trend, but no promises...

​Anyway!! A little bit about Teo:

As I’ve mentioned before, he’s a good boy. The best boy. And probably the most miserable boy in the whole story. Not because he’s a minotaur, but because nobody gives a damn about him. To top it off, he literally can’t leave The Scrapheap

Archetype: Protagonist

​Core Beliefs:

Initially, he believed that good always triumphs over evil and that justice ultimately prevails. He held onto the idea that good deeds are always rewarded while bad ones are punished. Eventually, these convictions shatter, and in their place emerges a profound faith in specific individuals—his team.

​Goals & Desires:

He wants his loved ones to be safe. To ensure this, he is willing to sacrifice his life and comfort, endure physical pain, and take every blow upon himself. He dreams of finding a true "home"—a place where he no longer has to hide or run from anyone.

​Fears:

​Being a burden to others.

​Breaking down completely/irreparably.

​Irrevocably losing those dear to him while remaining the sole survivor.

​Manifestations:

​Hyper-responsibility.

​Self-isolation.

The best girl (so far) of "Render" is Lumin!!

This is a 3-hour re-sketch/"half-assed" piece. Maybe I’ll do a redraw in 50 years, but for now, this is what we’ve got, heh

A quick plot summary:

A certain author says, "No one’s gonna read this sugary bullshit!" and tosses out a character concept. That’s how the characters end up in the world of rejected ideas - The Scraphead

Lux - cookie-cutter "perfect," "pure" hero - teams up with his story’s villain, Grim. Together, they start looking for a way out into a new story because The Scrapheap is absolutely reeking of rot and despair. Staying there means dying inside and slowly crumbling into dust. They aren't exactly fans of that kind of finale

They eventually meet another character from their story - the "original" Lux, a girl who was supposed to get revenge on Grim for everything good (and not so good) he'd done

Accompanied by the "magical girl" Lumin, the four of them become a makeshift semi-family that might just fall apart under the weight of someone else's scripts

P.S. Why "render"? Because:

1. For artists: It’s the final stage of work when the drawing gets color, light, and volume. You know, all that shit

2. For the comic’s context: It’s an industrial term for processing (animal waste/byproducts) into a finished product. A rendering plant is a disposal/recycling facility
