When the demos for p3 came out, I often saw people complain about Daniil skipping through the un-infected districts through that travel mechanic, saying that it removed an aspect that they really enjoyed from p2. While I understand that not everyone will enjoy this mechanic, it does tie well into Daniil. He isn't there for the town, he'd most likely just walk past everyone without saying a word. It's used to give insight into how daniil views the world, especially when compared to p2.

The time travel mechanic also adds to this idea that p3 represents film that we see in the trailers (which apparently some people didn't notice when the first few trailers dropped???). That idea makes a lot of sense when you compare it to p2 being theatre. It's comparing theatre to film. A raw, live performance to an edited performance where you can remove any mistakes and bend the truth while sacrificing the humanity of it all. Humanity to Utopia.

And that way the humanity is sacrificed in search of something perfect can tie back to the search for immortality. It all comes together perfectly. No one is telling anyone to like these aspects, but you cannot deny that they do add something that some might find important. Me included. Classic is my favourite. The writing for p3 does seem off at some points. I WILL criticise if I feel I should, but I feel that people should try to look beyond "this is just a game mechanic". It'll save you so much I promise.
