God seeing how protective Jane is of Maura with the whole Alice situation and with the head injury it is crazy man.
The way she puts the bell in front of Kent and flat out tells him “Maura suffered a head injury, everything she does is your business” when he says he didn’t think what Maura was doing was his business.
Like she is in full guard dog mode, understandably of course.

You know, I find it funny that from my own experience and what I remember, everyone hated Kent.
Slight exaggeration seeing as I do remember a couple people defending him back in the day but for the most part? No one liked Kent.
And there are a few reasons for this.
Yes, he was another possible male love interest to get in the way and shut down any possibility of Rizzles. Let’s be real, that was a big reason why people didn’t like him. But we’d had many short lived male love interests for our leading ladies before even the most annoying didn’t quite get as much hate. A lot of them were just… there and annoying.
I think another aspect is the timing of which he arrived and then they killed Susie. A lot of people, I remember they were wondering why they brought in this new dude to be Maura’s lab assistant when we already had Susie who most fans liked and who had been around for seasons. I think the timing of all that rubbed people the wrong way.
To say nothing of the fact they killed off one of the two (female) POC characters to make way for Mr. Wonderbread. I remember a lot of people side-eying that choice back in the day.
And finally, he was just… nothing. While my memory of the last three seasons isn’t as complete as I want, I remember literally nothing about Kent outside of I think he was Scottish. That’s it. I don’t remember any lines or scenes or any of his interests.
Any other character I can at least tell you something about them but I don’t remember anything about Kent. Not a storyline or anything.
I can’t even remember if they attempted to have him date either Jane or Maura. I feel like maybe but I can’t be certain.
He’s literally such a blank in my memory.
Comparing him to Grant, Dean, Dennis, Jack, Casey, and even Frankie for Maura (also ew) he’s just this… void in my memory.
I do feel bad for the actor. It’s not his fault the writers gave him nothing to work with.

A moment I love is when Qing says she plays her instrument because it helps keep her fiery temperament under control and Rover just looks at her and goes “You? Fiery?”
Me and Rover were on the same page lol
But I love that little tidbit before we get into the inner demon stuff because I love characters that appear calm and serene on the surface but then you find out that they had to work to be this way. It wasn’t something that came naturally.
It reminds me of the remake of Little Women (2017 I think?) where the mom is talking to Jo and Jo says that Mom is never angry and Mom’s response is that she’s always angry, it took years for her to get where she is now.
