Hey all! For #omegaverse day, I want to get my first real post in a while out! I'll be doing some headcanons for y'all!

Please remember, these are my thoughts, not rules for how omegaverse *has* to be :)

So, omegas in heat have two instincts/desires. Being bred and being safe. So, an alpha family member being near (aka curled into and cuddled with) will only trigger protected safe relaxed responses, while other alphas will trigger a want/desire/need response. However, after a couple heats, a mate can trigger both.

ALPHAS NEST TOO... It's just on a smaller scale than omegas, as an alpha nesting is more bc it triggers happy ghost/skeleton feelings of being a pup and curled up with mama in a nest.

Betas don't nest, but when stressed they will do what we normal ol humans call nesting in pregnant women. So the stock piling supplies, house cleaning and maintenance, etc. They will also attempt to help an omega mate nest.

I know, I'm such a creative little titler! Anywhom... So, I know I've been totally silent for about a month, and seeing as I promote this as a safe place... I suppose I'll share some happenings. So, I've just recently moved from middle size city area, lots of navy, very diverse, as an Asian I fit right in, down to my dads in a formerly KKK ran, white majority, tiny town in Oregon.

My mom and steodads place wasnt good for me... It was emotionally abusive, made my anxiety worse, and they didn't understand how to help me cope, and how they themselves needed to cope, with me having Aspergers, or what is also known as high functioning autism. That, paired with PTSD, severe general anxiety, severe depression, and the fact that I was constantly pissed off, bubbling under the surface there, with ADD, wasn't good.

It was loud, with so many kids around... I didn't handle the chaos well. I need some structure... Or I'm unproductive... Entirely... I mean, I'll get done shit I want to, like running blogs and shit, but not what I need to.

It's really hard for me, the change. What some people don't know, or get, is that... For someone who has so many emotional/mental issues, and severe abandonment issues, paired with all of the rest... Change can be scary. I was just getting my nest perfect there... And now I can't really have one at all. My bed is too high for it to be safe, and my bed frame too small... I also miss my Eomma. I mean... I hate her sometimes... But... She's still mommy... And I practically raised my youngest brother the first few years of his life... And now I don't get to see him grow up every day and it's really hard. I even miss the little asshoke twelve year old who doesn't know how to control himself. And I miss my step dad who, while never replacing my dad, gas always been there too. And I miss MY furniture... Not the stuff I used for when I visited here... I mean... My step dad spent weeks painting my old dresser for me... And BULIT my bed frame...

So it's hard. And I'm still struggling.

But, I'm starting to move forward more. I really like the school here... But I miss my old friends. Especially @mercurymacaroons who is one of the few constant friends in my life... He's been there for me since I was still a little youngin, and one of few people I actually really enjoyed being around outside of school and such... Also, as a side note, check out his art, he's amazing, and any of y'all in profs server who have seen any of my newer drawings, I'd be way shittier if it hadn't been for Adam.

Step Five- Finishing touches.

Okay, so I did find my Christmas lights! I still have fairy lights up on my wall, though. I used safety pins to pin them to my bed sheets,and clips on my wall! Then I put my top blankets layered on, and I'm done! It's really five simple steps to make a nest... Once you've figured out how you like to arrange yourself, it'll be about a half hour a week to fix it all up and you're set to go! Keep in mind, nests won't always look the same, and they don't need to! They are meant to be safe places you can rest and relax... Not just aesthetics!

Step Four- adding to the walls

Okay, next I add more pillows, and blankets, and stuffies. It's really all just how you wanna do it, no special techniques to follow, just whatever makes you happy!

Step Three- base walls.

Okay, so, I actually knot together the basic walls of my nest, for the blankets/pieces of fleece. This way, they are more stable together, and mover around less. My nest lasts a week or two this way, vs. a single night. Then, I lay down my base sheet of two yards of luxe fleece. After this, I add my base pillows. A lot of the specifics of how to do this, are very individual, and will be different for everyone, but here are mine.

Step Two- the basics

Okay, so, this second step is reao simple, yall. Shove your pile of nest materials to the floor. This will help you to actually make your nest neatly and efficiently. Then, you have your plain mattress. Make sure to clean up clutter around it. After this, you simply put on your fitted sheet!

So! You wanna build a nest? Or need ideas on how a character or muse woukd buikd their nest?? These are my instrustions for a nest on a twin size mattress with no guard rails on it.

You will need:

All the blankets you can find, and a sheet to cover your mattress.

Stuffies

Pillows

Soft lights (im currently using blue LED fairy lights... I may put up my xmas lights if i can find them instead.)

And any other cozy/comforting things you wanna add.

So, i use about... Oh, nearly twenty various sized blankets. I have nearly ten pillows as well. Of course, this can be adjusted to taste!
