I find these three particular statements to be very dangerous in their insinuations that “both sides” (as if anti racism/confederacy is really a point of view instead the only opinion for one who is not a white supremacist) are equally to justified in their opinions or willingness to perpetrate violence against the other. First I hate the constant implications that black people are equally responsible for racial conflicts as if wanting to live in a land that doesn’t openly hate us is equally as bad as threatening violence against people who don’t want to be openly hated. Secondly i hate that they would phrase the threatened murder of black people as “fighting back” when only one side has threatened violence. Third, again, there is only ONE side that has threatened murder. This is not some unknowable waiting game of who will strike first, there is no “no one”. There is a very specific group of people who have voiced that they would be willing to kill over this. It strikes me as very dangerous rhetoric that continuously attempts to make it appear as if very one sided threats and aggression are equal to wanting your humanity recognized.Its the same rhetoric used when a cop shoots an armed poc or when a woman is raped and its a rhetoric that constantly attempts to make the victim an active participant in the violence being committed against them. Its disgusting.
