Hi I'm a real-life actual horse and I use my hooves to type posts on the internet and use my weird horizontal pupils to read text and look at art. I post PM stuff (mostly Lobcorp, some Ruina, but i am also caught up with Limbus) on this side acc to cultivate my brainrot into a healthy brain fungus farm I can harvest for fun and good chemicals.

Ok you know what, durante powers on the brain, and here's an essay/rant i've been sitting on for a while:
If they give Netzach a Durante power asociated with a sin, there's a 90% chance it'll be Gulae (gluttony) and if it is I'll be so fucking mad because it'll reinforce a really bad mischaracterization of him.

Okay, so now that we're past the dark ages of "what the fuck does Don have to do with pride" we can surely say the sins for Durante powers correspond to the Sephirot sins/flaws, not necessarily the sinners associated with them:
Hokma gets sloth because he has to overcome his unwillingness to move on from 10000 years of timeloop with his beloved
Binah gets pride because she needs to overcome being pissed off about being defeated and locked down there (justified ngl) and agree to work with the rest of the Sephirot to break the timeloop
Chesed gets gloom because he has to overcome his learned helplessness born from despair and stand up for himself
Gebura gets wrath because she needs to deal with those anger issues.
So what does it mean if Netzach gets gluttony?
Gluttony in limbus is kind of a composite of classic gluttony and greed, but it also has heavy asociations with plants and nature, in a kind of "natural cycle of consumption" way. Netzach has that nature asociation, his department has a huge rose in it and his floor in ruina is a forest, plus the booze fairies in Limbus, but to say he is greedy or overconsumptive would be to read his arc in Lobcorp with your ass instead of your eyes.
It's really easy to draw parallels between gluttony and addiction. It's also a complete misreading of why Netzach is an addict in lobcorp - the game goes out of its way to show that it is not out of weakness or lack of willpower, but entirely because he'd been crushed after thousands of years of psychological torture and has literally nothing else to look forward in his life besides getting high. We can confirm that's the case because in Ruina, once Netzach is taken out of the torment nexus he immediately quits enkephalin and actually starts doing things with his life - gets hobbies, socializes with people, even though he's still an alcoholic he is now a social drinker rather than "i need to get plastered asap so I stop percieving reality".
His main sin is gloom, not gluttony. "Wow but Chesed already has gloom" yeah and Chesed and Netzach have basically the same arc in lobcorp so it works.
You could also, of course, argue that his sin could be sloth - his unwillingness to accept life and general apathy (esp as confirmed via Gio's characterization in ruina) could be easily described as a type of sloth, and it would also give him a phenomenal tie-in to Yi Sang who is a very similar character to him in similar way to Hong Lu-Chesed and Ryoshu-Gebura pairs. But both of those sins are already taken and Yi Sang missed the "get a cool durante power" train. RIP Pigritae Netzach you would've rocked so hard.
Netzach is one of the more empathetic portrayals of addiction I've seen in fiction, where it first and foremost centers the circumstances that would drive someone to substance abuse, rather than spinning it is a personal flaw. It is very common to misread his character as the latter because hee hee hoo hoo funni booze man, but to do so would be to ignore a part of why his arc in lobcorp was great.

A twitter post abt ruina's balancing made me remember that one slander post I made about Chesed and realize wow he really is the King of Absolute Gameplay Irrelevancy and also King of Getting Completely Outdone By Gebura at every single fucking turn.
In LobCorp, one of his research bonuses straight up Doesn't Fucking Work and his core suppression is pure piss you won't even notice is there. Meanwhile Gebura's research gives you three incredibly useful gameplay features and her core bonus is arguably the best in the game (hilariosuly, that's also the game that characterizes Chesed as one of the few genuinely competent sephirot, and Gebura as being pretty shit at actually running her department).
In Ruina, due to its stupid creative and bold design decision to make most floors kneecapped for 90% of the game, about most of the time you have Social Sciences unlocked you won't want to use it because it has less units than the bottom floors and later no EGO pages. By the time you DO get Chesed to max throttle you have already fully realized Gebura, and she comes with a unique page so bombastically overpowered you're basically trolling if you play anything but Language at that point in the game.
In Limbus, as outlined before, Morositas does Literally Nothing for most scenarios in the game except the very specific "you're doing a story fight with underleveled units" situation you have to very intentionally get yourself into. Meanwhile Ira makes a unit too angry to die and lets it win every single clash for 4 turns, do I gotta elaborate why that's Good.
I hope this becomes a tradition. Like Project Moon's next game is gonna be [spins wheel of random genres] a city builder where a suspiciously Chesed-flavoured upgrade tree unlocks a set of coffee shops with microscopic bonuses that you get too late in the game to do anything with, and Gebura's tree is the backbone of the military side of the game and makes aggressive playthroughs fun and viable.
