Little Miss Always Right

“Seriously, if you’ve got such an issue sharing the damn sidewalk, you could just walk in the grass.” Holden rolled his eyes as whoever he’d been arguing with stormed off. He glanced up at someone lingering nearby, giving them a quick grin. “Sorry you had to hear all that. He was an ass.”

Olivia as on her way to the next class when she heard someone arguing. She stopped and looked at the two people, rolling her eyes at his words, “honestly, I get you. It sucks when some people act like they’re the king or queen of the halls”. 

Jesse had never really been one to follow sports, other than football, but he couldn’t help but get into the game. Plus, there was this thing that high school girls did when it came to dressing for school pride. There was a lot of body paint and very little clothes, and that was a concept that Jesse could definitely get behind. Prepped for a night of fun, the last thing that Jesse had expected was to get a text from Olivia. It was seemingly random, but she’d always been a little out there when they were together, so Jesse didn’t think much of it. After a bit of texting, he picked up a bottle of water for her and, since the concessions stand was out of nachos, made his way towards the section where Olivia said she was sitting. 

“You are a lifesaver”, Olivia smiled at him, like nothing had happened between them. “Well, I was bored and I don’t know why your name popped in my head. Maybe I missed hanging out with you or maybe you were my last shot”, the lie came out naturally, she opened the water bottle and took a big gulp. “What about you? Where is your flavor of the week? I’m really surprised you don’t have someone hanging on your arm”, she raised her brow. Olivia loved when the attention was on her, but she really wasn’t feeling it tonight, it was ‘business’ after all. So the plan was to try to keep the conversation casual and the subject of their relationship or her life away.
