Easiest way to find possible conflicts is using the HDCU, Anon. @lazyduchess recently shared an updated version if you have The Ultimate Collection. It will show you any possible conflicts.

In my case, all the conflicting files were incredibly silly and totally avoidable mistakes that I made because I was letting my ADHD win, lol. So as long as you’re actually reading the documentation for your mods (do not just skim! don’t be like me!) and running things through HDCU, you should be alright.

Edit: I forgot to mention, if you run things through HDCU and don’t get any hits, but you’re still having issues like jumpbugs/crashing/etc., then the only option left is to do the 50/50 method until you isolate the problem.

Charmed Road Overlay V2: Now with Sidewalks!

So, nearly a year ago now, I shared my Charmed road defaults. Included in the download was a retexture of @criquette-was-here‘s road overlays with my new roads. However, a few days later, I realized that it would come in handy to have a version of the road overlay with the sidewalks included (especially for the curved sections!). I made a new version of the overlays to fix this oversight and then promptly... forgot to ever share them!

The (very lazy - apologies) preview is unedited save for resizing and adding the text. The .RAR includes the mesh for the road overlay, just in case you don’t already have it, and V2 will not override my original overlay files, so you can use both in your game if you’d like to (I certainly do!). I’ll add an SFS link to this post + update the original Charmed download post once the upload functionality is back up. Happy Simming, y’all!

I revamped my simoleon defaults and add-on deco money, so that they’re less blurry + match the retextures I did for Honeywell’s cash money. I forgot to take a pic of the tip jar, but it is included in the .RAR. All files are compressed.

I no longer have the original .PSD from when I made my money defaults, so I had to remake it from scratch to make the additional denominations. Bella’s a lot clearer on the new version and the plumbob is thinner. I’m probably going to end up revamping my defaults after this, since I like this version a lot better.

CHARMED

I used CuriousB’s MM roads for years, then I switched over to @criquette-was-here‘s Rural Charm roads a few months back, but I started to miss the cute little details like the curb on the edge of the road and the crosswalk.

So: I combined them and put the finished result on CuriousB’s Lush terrain. There was much selective erasing and redrawing, and I scrapped it and started over more than once. I spent a half hour on adjusting the color of the sidewalks alone. (Please note that I use @dreadpirate‘s MM Lighting Mod, so the sidewalk colors might not match as well, if you use another (or no) lighting mod.)

I’ve also included criquette’s road overlay mesh + recolors that match my road defaults. They will not conflict, so you can keep both in your game if you want to.

The first photo in this post shows my default roads in neighborhood view; the second photo shows the difference between criquette’s overlay, Maxis’ default roads, and my overlay; and the third photo shows my road overlay next to the neighborhood roads within lot view. These pictures are unedited outside of resizing + adding text.

East Arbor’s County Library

After some testing, I’ve decided to add harder jobs + slower skilling to my game. I enjoy the additional challenge, but with only one sim in my test couple holding down a job (barely - it’s a constant promotion/demotion dance), even after two weeks, the bookcase was in constant danger of being sold for some extra cash. A PC was clearly out of the question when they had to save what little money they had for basic necessities. And I’m always looking for ways to send my sims out and about, so that I don’t get bored watching them hang out at their house all day, so:

Sims of all ages are free to visit the library and make full use of it’s resources any time between 9AM and 5PM. The first floor features the library’s extensive collection of books, as well as a children’s section with an activity table and a single computer with increased security for young eyes. The second floor features the main computer bank (free access is allowed to library card holders), as well as a set of chess tables on the patio for sims that wish to test their logic skills.

Hey, anon. I used pretty much every one of @criquette-was-here’s building sets, so here’s a link to their main downloads page. There are also some buildings from @zena-dew-drop‘s light up edit of CuriousB’s Hello City Skyscrapers (x), and ousmeo’s light up edit of deedee’s Roaring Heights (x). That should cover everything you’re looking for. If you’re still missing something specific, hmu and I’ll track it down.

omsimblr’s Island Sand as a Dirt Terrain Default

Since I’m actually using my lush and desert terrains for other hoods, but I’ve literally never used the dirt terrain, I turned @omsimblr‘s Island Sand into a dirt terrain default. Figured I couldn’t be the only one who might get some use of it, so here y’all go. Remember to get the lot road overlay from the original post!

Daisy Darling

For the anon who asked for Daisy to be uploaded.

If you want Daisy to be exactly as she is in my game, she’s a Grilled Cheese Primary/Romance Secondary Scorpio, and her personality is 1 8 3 8 5. She’s attracted to Plantsims and Formal Wear, but doesn’t really care for sims who are Good at Cleaning. If you use heights in your game, she’s 5′8″.

The .RAR includes CC-inclusive and CC-free options. The CC-inclusive version includes a custom version of @withlovefromsimtown‘s YF Neo Hippie default, so that Daisy will still wear her iconic outfit without you having to download the default. Both versions will use your default S2 skin (I have these skins - she would use the color Sunkissed), and the CC-free version will use your default green eyes.
