Ooh girl I ain’t been on this page since 2014
Slavery favored no African, magical or non-magical. It is a well-worn but not often talked about fact of magical history that colonial American wizards owned Muggle slaves if they had the money, but what of their magical brethren? Some were half-blood and Muggle-born children stripped of their wands and sold away by West African pure-bloods who wished to align themselves with rising anti-Muggle sentiment. Others were captured by European “blood hunters” who wished to purge wizardkind of its “lesser” kind. Despite this gruesome history, Afro-American witches and wizards who were brought out of slavery established some of the earliest all-magical villages, and even served as renegade guardians of their Muggle brethren, sometimes (but not always) intermarrying freely with them. It was a complicated history, yet a beautiful one nonetheless.

In light of recent racist events involving David Krap, I am breaking my rule (although I did it before) by making a post to this abandoned blog. Because of the slackness that went down, I contemplated deleting this and all other blogs associated with this account, but then I reconsidered my decision and decided that it'd be best to leave it here as somewhat of a protest statement. However! Some from zorascreation is being merged into my new blogging home at zoramagia.tumblr.com, (which is currently undergoing refurbishment and'll need a few hours before it's really revved up and ready to go). A second account is also being made at soup as well. If you'd like to continue with me on my blogging journey, don't be a stranger and follow! :) Fair tidings.
I miss y'all. I said I'd be popping in to say hey. So hey! :)
<3
I love you all.

I think this is the end of zorascreation. I think this is it. It’s time to start anew. The other day I made a post about how I shouldn’t leave zorascreation because it’s the only thing keeping me from reacting violently to all the madness going on around me. I realize now that that was false. It’s not zorascreation that’s keeping me level-headed—it’s the art of blogging itself. No matter where I blog, it’ll be the anchor that shields me from the evils of self-destruction. Being able to write and connect with so many different types of people has been a constantly recurring theme in my life, and it’ll always be there, whether I’m blogging on the internet or speaking before a crowd of people or circling with friends and acquaintances. I took a quick look through all of my archives and recognized an important thing: I’ve said everything I could possibly ever need to say. At least for right now. I’ve reached a place in my life where I no longer need to be long-winded to make important points and have my voice be heard, which is why I haven’t made a long post in quite sometime (although this post betrays that idea, it’s just necessary for it to be this way). I’m not deleting zorascreation, no. I’m going to leave it up here as a repository for people who found this blog inspiring enough to follow and ask me for advice. Haha, if you can filter through all the gifs and porn first on your way down the archival list. I’ve done it. I’ve done what I set out to do. Now it’s time to take my mind in a new direction. And this extends to Facebook as well, too. I need to go carve another path in the road for myself and zorascreation is not a part of this new road. I’ll always be watching, though, popping in to get the buzz from the bees. But as for posts? There’s literally nothing else I need to say. I’ve said everything. This chapter is closed. Time to write a new one.. Nothing’s “driven me away” (even though it may seem like it, given the nature of the post I made before this one). After I made that post, I looked it over, and then I looked at all my other blogs, and then I took a stroll through my inbox and a lightbulb went off in my head. It is finished. If we have any unfinished conversations, though, you can always e-mail me at [email protected]. But, like I said, I’ll be lurking from time to time, checking in. I’m like Roz from Monsters Inc. I’m always watching you. Fait des beau rêves.
I’ll miss you D: You’re one of my favorite tumblrs and if that’s what you think you need to do then you should. But if you ever make another blog or new facebook, you better let me know cause I want to be a part of it <3
And now a question I have had burning within me since I followed: Why'd you choose zorascreation as your name?
:) I named it in honor of my favorite author, Zora Neale Hurston.

I gotta get off Tumblr and go do something constructive. This is just too, too toxic for me.
The bullshit on my dashboard is giving me heart palpitations. I cannot deal with this right now. No, no. Calling Trayvon Martin a "violent thug" and comparing him to Osama bin Laden and "transbaby" and RadFems and KKK Rallies. Yeah, that needs to go. And so do I.
its funny how zuky described who gets more respect when they walk into a sports bar…def a black guy over an asian one, even while asian men tend to get paid more and shit….
thats how i feel non-black latin men are w afrolatino men. theres a level of acceptance theyre granted many times that i wouldnt be for being a black woman.
and there are instances where a black woman would be preferred because we’re at least less intimidating than a black man.
and there are places where its better to be a visibly indigenous latino than an afrolatina,
while in some areas, being a black woman actually means im viewed as more likely to be a citizen than more indigenous latinos.
and thats one of the strange ways in which racism works. its not static. or linear. its all circumstantial. but the one thing we know is…
we’re all fucked.

"It seems despite your exhaustive defensive strategies, you still have a bit of a security problem, Headmaster." - Harry Potter (HPDH Pt 2)
Um. Who the fuck decided it was okay for Harry to speak like this? This is bad. Like. Objectively bad.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Claymation Movie (Part 25)
That embarrassing moment when a 26-part full-length claymation movie of the Deathly Hallows book
Is better than the live-action, official product.
I feel these Harry Potter fansites should be put in stasis till something relevant happens and they have actual news to share that people want to hear. The last thing that caught my eye were the Pottermore updates and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opening. But all of this stuff about other film projects Dan, Emma and Rupert are working on and people winning prizes for "Best Fan Art" are not things I particularly care about. This fandom is dying. Slowly, slowly dying. Because Pottermore ain't deliver YET.
