🍃 IMPORTANT!! Due to recent life events and the threat of burnout, I’ve been reconsidering the format of «Ninjago: Future of the Past». Even though the plot and atmosphere are fully locked in, the format remains my number one question!
I’m used to working in a comic format and naturally think in panels. On top of that, since English isn’t my native language, the translation might feel less expressive. To be honest, sharing my writing still makes me feel a bit self-conscious lmao. I feel kind of silly every time I write something... 🥺 But there is a very high chance that “Future of the Past” will be released as an illustrated book — just like I originally planned right at the start. Before making the switch, though, I want to be absolutely sure it’s the right move for the project.
My AU has gone off course multiple times, and honestly, every detour has only made it better. Since this is meant to be a psychological drama, a text format will allow me to explore the deepest metaphors, character thoughts, and subtle associations! Plus, having fewer illustrations is a huge bonus — I won’t be under such a constant threat of burnout, which means I can significantly upgrade the quality of each artwork instead of rushing through hundreds of comic panels.
The text below is a third-person narrative meant for one of my future animations. Instead of just dumping it into my notes, I used it to test this program’s formatting and usability, and I’m really happy with the results <)
Please share this project and let me know your thoughts! It would mean the world to me to know that this story resonates with you!
