“the politics of human sexuality” is such a good episode because up until that point troy defines his identity through being a good athlete (even though he also hates it) and then abed completely disrupts that paradigm by being better than him in literally every single athletic competition they can think of, and from that moment going forward, troy’s identity is primarily defined by his passionate gay love for abed.

no simple scene brings me such intense emotions like Abed (in Jeff’s shirt) and Troy doing their spanish assignment quickly and high fiveing before they leave in s1e2 Spanish 101. they don’t even know that they are about to begin a friendship that brings them such fulfillment that they have to eventually kill the “real” versions of themselves to even be able to move on from one another. they dont know.
