Capricorn

Capricorns have the worst luck when it comes to love. Often thought to be cold and callous, many potential love interests go the wayside. Ah, but what many fail to realize is that Capricorn has all the love to give that is if they are the right person. To find your love, Capricorn, I’ve got a spell for you!

           You Will Need:

Red Rose (6)

Cream Rose (2)

Lavender Rose (2)

Garnet Crystal (In Wand or Cut form)

Red Candle (3)

Yellow Candle (3)

Pink Candle (3)

Fill your bath with warm water.

Gently pick the petals of the roses and place the petals in the bath.

Carefully swirl the water until the rose petals are evenly spaced out.

Line your bath or your surroundings with the candles in the following order: Red, Yellow, Red, Pink, Yellow, Pink, Red, Yellow, Pink.

Light the candles in the same order that you placed them. Do not light the candles with another candle.

Kiss the Garnet crystal as sweetly as you would kiss your love.

Relax in your bath while holding the Garnet crystal.

When you leave your bath, take the rose petals out first after yourself

Then blow out the candles in reverse order that you lit them.

That night, sleep with the Garnet crystal under your pillow.

Aquarius

Aquarius have the potential to be some of the greatest lovers that any sign would be happy to have. Unfortunately, Aquarius are only able to see the big picture: Dating, Engagement, Marriage, etc. that they often forget the steps to reach those lofty goals. To help keep you on the path of love, Aquarius, here is a spell for you!

           You Will Need:

 Rose Quartz (In Chunk form)

 Amethyst (Any form will do)

Hematite (Any form will do)

Malachite (In Wand form)

Opal (In Cut form)

Tiger’s Eye (In Tumbled form)

Moonlight (Any Phase of the moon will do)

Choose a space that brings you peace and joy to perform this spell.

Make sure that the space does not hold any negative energy.

           Perform a quick cleansing if you’re unsure on the space.

In a perfect circle, place the crystals clockwise in the following order:

           Amethyst (12 o’clock)

           Hematite (3 o’clock)

           Opal (6 o’clock)

           Malachite (9 o’clock)

On a slip of paper write down the name of your love and place it in front of you. Do not place the paper above Amethyst but below it.

Place the Rose Quartz crystal on top of the paper.

Hold the Tiger’s Eye in your hands and meditate no less than 30 minutes on your relationship.

When finished meditating, pick up the crystals counterclockwise.

Place the Tiger’s Eye in the light of the moon while placing the Rose Quartz behind it.

Pisces

Pisces are highly sentimental and romantic but they have trouble conveying their feelings and setting their expectations for a relationship. Because of this, their romantic relationships suffer. Miscommunication issues are troublesome but never fear, I have a spell for you.

           You will need:

 Moonlight (The full moon)

  A Journal (Black will do)

A smudge stick (made with Myrtle, Lemon Balm, Mistletoe, and Honeysuckle)

Lavender Candle (4)

Before the moon rises, use the smudge stick to purify the room.

As the moon rises, place the candles clockwise starting with Silver.

Make sure the candles are in a perfect circle.

Light the candles counterclockwise. Do not light the candles with another candle.

Enter the circle carefully with your dominant foot first.

Take a deep breath as you relax within the circle.

Breathe in and out five times.

With the blue pen, write down words of sentimentality, romance, and compassion.

Do not write about anger or hatred. Be kind and sincere in your writings and in what you desire from your relationship.

Think carefully of every aspect of your relationship when writing.

Aries

Aries are passionate in life and in love. They’ve got so much to give but like everything else in life, Aries can be intimidating when it comes to love and dating. They’ve got endless energy but when you’re testing the waters of dating and getting to know new people, an Aries can be off putting. But never fear sweet Aries for there is a spell to help you.

           You Will Need:

 A treasured personal item (Such as a ring or a necklace)

Carefully pick the petals of the yellow roses first. Then pick the petals of the white, pink, and orange roses.

Sleep soundly through the night.

In the morning, collect your rose petals and spread them on a strong wind.

Taurus

Taurus are some of the sweetest signs in the world but they do have a tendency to lack in the passionate department of romance. It’s not that they don’t love their partner or spouse but they have trouble showing it. It would never occur to a Taurus to go boldly charging after their love with declarations of romance. No, they would think of a more practical way to show them how much they love them instead. But in doing this, they can appear as unfeeling which leads to hurt and heartache. Gemini

Gemini are a fickle but wonderful people to fall in love with. Everything they do screams romance. People can’t help but fall in love with a Gemini and yet, it is because of that that Gemini’s hold little regard for romance. After all, when the world is in love with you where’s the thrill? To get the spark back in your love life, I’ve got a spell for you.

           You will Need:

Diamond (In Cut Form)

Red Roses (12)

Mint (Some may dislike Mint so use as much or as little as you need)

Lavender (Some may dislike Lavender so use as much or as little as you need)

Gently pick the petals from six of the roses.

Prepare a warm bath and bathe in the roses and lavender.

When you leave the bath, wash your hands

Few herbs have such a dark past like Mint. Wash your hands with the Mint and gently dry them with a warm towel.

Before you go to bed, eat the seeds of the pomegranate.

Cancer

Few can compare to fair Cancer. They are radiant and beautiful but due to their beauty, few every work up the courage to ever ask them out. Thus, Cancers spend their time alone, waiting for their love to come. It’s a lonely existence but there is a love spell to bring love to you.

The Morning Sun

Place the five bowls of purified water towards the morning sun in an arrow formation.

In front of you place the Sun Tarot card facing you. Do not place it in reverse.

This spell will only work in the bright morning sun on a clear day.

Virgo

The Virgo keeps their emotions in tight check. When it comes to matters of the heart, they are no different in this area. It’s hard for them to show their emotions and make themselves available but they do desire love as much as the next sign. To help bring out the love that you possess here is a spell just for you!

Prepare your altar for the spell with a quick purification.

Place the crystal in a lattice state on the altar.

Place the candles in a square formation around the crystals.

Meditate for an hour in front of the altar in the morning and before you go to bed in the evening. 

Libra

With Venus as their ruling planet, there is nothing as fun as falling in love for a Libra. Flirtation is an art form, seduction is a delicate ballet, and the conquest of a new lover is a thrill. People line up to fall in love with a Libra. But love and admiration can feel superficial after a while. Is there anyone of substance left? Leo

There is a regal air surrounding a Leo but in the realm of love, there is little to speak of. A Leo wants to be in love with a partner who loves them as much as they love them. To nature their amorous nature it difficult to say the least. Leos are hard to impress and worst, have a line of admirers waiting to take the next in line. How to pick the right partner when everyone looks good? Don’t worry Leo, there is a love spell for you.

           You Will Need:

In a silk scarf, securely wrap up the herbs. Do not wrap them so tightly that they bend and break.

I’d like to say before anything else, and as I always say, this is not the only way to do this. There are many different ways to create your own spells, and this is simply the method that I find easiest when teaching beginners. And always remember that when it comes to crafting a spell, your intentions are whats most important.

Gathering Your Thoughts

The first step to creating any spell, is thinking about what kind of spell you want to perform, how you want to perform it, and how you want it to manifest.

Ask yourself some questions. “What kind of spell do I want to make?” “Does this need to be a very specific spell or a vague one?” “What method am I going to use to cast/create the spell?” “How do I want this spell to affect me or the person it’s aimed at?” “What kind of ingredients am I going to need?” “What time of day or moon phase would I like to perform this spell?” Anything along those lines are important questions to ask before you start working on your spell. Write the questions and answers down on paper that way you can keep track of everything!

Types of Spells

The next place you’re going to end up is choosing what kind of spell you want to do. Picking what type of spell you want to do is important because this is what decides how effective it is, how long it’s going to last, and when it’s effect will activate. This is not a list of all the types of spells out there, but simply the types that I do on a regular basis. And as another note, you can totally combine methods as well! This can easily enhance the power of your spells and make your intentions more clear and direct.

Prayer - This is the most simple form of a spell, and best to do if you’re only looking for a little aid rather than something major. A spell like this puts you in the universes hands completely.

Spoken Word - Differing from prayer because this has actual intentions in mind. This is usually a word, phrase, rhyme/lyric, or short paragraph spoken with energy. A spell like this can be very effective depending on how much energy you put into it and how much you actually believe in yourself. If you’re low on supplies and need something solid, spoken word is the way to go.

Incense Spell - An incense spell is usually directed at yourself rather than at another person, though that doesn’t mean it can’t work on another. But these are very temporary spells and only last as long as the burning incense. Usually this kind of spell is used to enhance focus.

Candle Spell - One of the most common types of spell you’re going to see are ones with candles. You can perform this spell on yourself or another person easily, and they’re very fast acting depending on the type of candle you use. When doing this kind of spell, take things like color and size in account.

Crystal Grid - A type of spell work that is done by placing specific crystals in a manner where their energies intermingle and work together to perform a task. This is a spell type that I use on a daily basis to set the mood for the day and keep me energies.

Sigil - A type of drawn magick that puts your intentions of paper. Usually these need to be charged and activated, but once that’s done, they have quite nice effects!

Bottle/Bag Spell - My personal favorite type of spell! These work well if you need a constant effect, and depending on the size of bag or bottle you use can easily be carried with you everywhere. These are very long lasting, don’t need to be charged often, and produce the best effect.

Energy Spell - Probably a more advanced technique, but this is the use of pure energy to put your will into motion. Doing energy spells takes lots of practice and in the early stages can be very unstable in whether they work or not, or whether they’ll completely backfire. This takes patience so don’t give up!

Picking Your Ingredients

Unless you’ve decided on spoken word or prayer alone, you’ll be looking for ingredients next. You don’t need expensive or fancy ingredients, and if you need to you can totally add spices and such from your kitchen ^u^ Think about correspondences carefully, and if you associate something with a feeling or ideal specifically then use it! Things that have personal meanings to yourself can be the most powerful ingredient in any spell.

Here are some of the correspondences I’ve posted about. (If tumblr wasn’t fiddly I would post links, but they’re on my blog in the “My Grimoire” and “My Tips” pages) Herbs and Spices Incense and Oils Common Crystals Colors Flowers Feathers (be mindful of the feathers you pick up, some could get you in legal trouble!)

When To Cast

Once you’ve got all your ingredients together, next thing you’re gonna wanna sit down and figure out when you want to cast your spell. This isn’t always a necessary part, and most spells can be done whenever you feel like, but taking things like Time of Day or the Current Moon Phase into account can really add to (or even take away from) the power of your spell

Here are some simple correspondences for Moon Phase and Time of Day. (I’ll go more in depth in a separate post if enough people show interest)

Moon Phases

New Moon (when there is only the tiniest sliver) - Good for sowing the seeds of new ideas

Waxing Moon - Good for healing, and growing ideas

Full Moon - Best time to perform any sort of spell

Waning Moon - Good for cutting things out of your life

Dark Moon (when the moon is not visible) - Take this time to rest and focus on yourself

Time of Day

1am-3am - Good for communicating with spirits

4am-6am - Good for planting new ideas and fertility

7am-9am - Best time to make offerings to deities or local spirits

10am-12pm - Best time for positivity and growth

1pm-3pm - Good to focus on yourself and your studies

4pm-6pm - Time to harvest and be with family

7pm-9pm - Best time to cut things out of your life

10pm-12am - Good for any magickal workings

Like I said earlier, this stuff isn’t necessary unless you really want that extra ‘umph’ in your magick, so don’t feel like you have to plan it down to a T especially if you’re in a hurry. Only plan if you want to and have the time to.

Organizing and Casting

How are you going to cast the spell? That’s probably one of the hardest parts you’re going to come across if you’re new to spell crafting. You want to think about this part carefully so you get maximum results. I can give some tips ^u^

If you’re combining methods, think about what order you want to put them in. Organize them in a way that flows naturally.

Practice your spell! Set up a play scenario and rehearse your spell a few times to make sure you get it right, and the whole process goes smoothly.

Don’t be afraid to make a mistake though, mistakes are part of life and they always tend to happen when you want them to the least. If your spell doesn’t go perfectly the way you imagined, that’s okay. Intention is what matters.

Keep all your spells in a file or in a book. Keeping records of spells is important if you ever intend to use them again, write everything down from ingredients to how you cast

Dont be afraid to experiment! Especially with random things, that’s how you make your own associations. Making your own associations is how you make a spell even stronger!

🍰 What Is Beltane?

🌷 Beltane is celebrated because we are now at the peak of spring; the sun god has now taken over. For many of us, summer is arriving, or is coming very soon. It’s super joyous, happy, exciting day that honours life. The earth is buzzing and all of the earth’s energies are thriving: fertility, sexuality, passion, energy and new life are at their peak of stimulation at this time. Fertility is the main theme for Beltane. The Triple Goddess in her maiden form and the Horned God are finally united and they are bringing new life on the earth. It’s the time of the year when we need to grant luck to the summer months and the growth that is coming. It is one of the solar festivals, the other being Samhain. Beltane represents birth, while Samhain represents death, which is why Beltane is seen as the most important celebration by some people.

🍰 How To Celebrate:

🌷 Beltane celebrations focus on fertility, abundance and all of the amazing gifts that the earth gives us at this time.

🍰 Activities:

🌷 Create amulets made from rose quartz and give them to loved ones, friends and family. This is a gift that can help with positivity and passion and they can help to lower anxiety too. For specific loved ones this can help with the passion and romance between the two of you and it can also calm nerves!

🌷 Flowers and greenery are a huge part of Beltane.

🌷 Create flower crowns.

🌷 Create daisy chains.

🌷 Wear flowers on your body.

🌷 Make a green man mask from leaves.

🌷  Beltane is a time of love, so if you have a loved one that you would like to make a commitment to, this is an excellent time for marriage, handfasting and promise rituals. You may want to plan your ceremony for Beltane.

🌷 Dance round a maypole; this is a pole that is typically made from wood or metal and that has ribbons tied to a wreath around it. The maypole, is a phallic symbol of the male, the wreath around it and the ribbons coming off it, the vagina. We are celebrating fertility and the marriage of the two of them around this time! You can do a traditional maypole dance around this pole holding the ribbons. Look out for nearby maypole festivities - there are probably more than you think; if not you can create one yourself with your loved ones or your coven.

🌷 Also if you have plans to conceive, now is a great and lucky time!

🌷 Another way to celebrate love is just to go for a walk- you could search for a hawthorn tree, make a wish , have a picnic and collect some wild flowers. Share this experience with a friend or loved one or enjoy a solitary walk.

🌷 Spells to cast at this time are love spells and vitality, protection, romance and purification spells. Casting your circles with oats around this time of year is also a good idea! They are a traditional Beltane grain for good luck.

🌷 Light a Beltane fire- have a Beltane fire ritual with your friends and family, serve food and have an outside bonfire. Fires are traditionally to honor our sun gods, and celebrate the warmth and the sun god taking over the cold.

This is by no means all encompassing, but as someone who specializes in crystals, I can say that these are the most basic stones that every witch will want in their supplies.

Clear Quartz🌟 - This crystal can be used for literally anything and is very easy to program with your intent. Stock up on this stone because it can be used in replacement of any crystal in a spell. It is also a great stone to use if you really want to give your will a big boost, because clear quartz amplifies everything. And the best part is if you’re worried about your local crystal shops sources, you can find this stone naturally in just about any creek bed that has gravel patches.

Rose Quartz💘 - The stone of love of yourself and others. This is another handy stone to have because not only can it help encourage self-esteem, but it can bring love your way. Familial, platonic, or romantic. It won’t discriminate based on what you want or need.

Amethyst🔮 - A great stone to use if you’re looking for inner peace in your life. This stone brings about a soothing environtment and helps to keep you calm and collected. And for any aspiring psychics out there, this is the perfect stone to start training your third eye. Good for any spell where raw spiritual energy is needed.

Smokey Quartz⛰ - A really good stone to keep you grounded and connected to the psyichal plane in times of high stress. It takes negative energy and cleanses it before releasing it back into the world. Placing it at the feet opens a protective circle.

Hematite⚔️ - A good stone to use if you have issues with anger. It can help promote level headed thinking, especially in times of stress. Also a very good protection stone, carrying it in your pocket creates a ward/barrier around yourself to keep out negativity.

Sunstone☀️ - A great stone for those struggling with depression, or having a lot of self worth issues (!!this does not replace a doctor and medicine!!)) Its the stone of the sun and brings with it happiness and joy.

Sodalite📚 - The stone of logic and intuition. A very good piece to have for all the baby witches and students, because it can keep you focused when researching and studying. Can also aid in soothing a panick attack.

Turquoise💊 - This is a very good general healing stone, and good to have for my healers out there. (!!this does not replace a doctor or medicine!!)) It can also help bring friendship.
