5 Songs You Definitely Need To Add To Your Summer Playlist
Itās that time of the year again, where all you can think about is packing your bags, forgetting whatever you donāt want to think about, and discovering places you never thought could exist.
And while you ponder on where youād rather be *cough cough anywhere but here cough cough*, Iāve got 5 songs that you definitely need to add to your playlist.
Do not make art because you want people to think you are brilliant. Make art because you want something beautiful to exist in this world.

Oh Madeon. The 20 year old Parisian producer who just gets it.
Madeon first debuted in the music scene when he released a live mashup video of his favourite tracks at the moment entitled āPop Cultureā. The video has received millions of views since the release and since then heās been working with artists such as Lady Gaga and Zedd just to name a few.
He stopped touring completely in 2014 to focus on creating original music for his debut full length record, which was released March 2015 entitled āADVENTUREā! We got a preview of what the record had to offer when he released his first single āYouāre On (feat. Kyan)ā and since then nothing but greatness was awaited.
When I got my hands on the record, I didnāt know what exactly to do. I had waited so long for the release and now that it was in my possession I felt like it wasnāt enough to just listen to it on my computer using earphones, I had this crazy thought that if I were to hear this record, it had to be live. But if I had waited for that, I wouldnāt be writing this blog post now would I. Haha! But I went ahead and listened to the record at 3am, and tried to go to bed after listening to the record but couldnāt because I was too hyper from all the good vibes I had gotten from listening. I just wanted to dance until the sun rose.
The content of his record lives up to the title. Each track gives off a vibe of being on an adventure, going out into the great wide wonder, unsure of whatās to happen. - Something Iām quite fond of.
Madeon also included a few tracks from former EPs into ADVENTURE, specifically āIcarusā, āFinaleā, āThe Cityā, āCut the Kidā, and āTechnicolorā.
We also got to hear what Madeonās singing voice sounds like. He released on his Twitter that he did the vocals on āHomeā, a song he had written when he locked himself in his studio, until he had finished three tracks from start to finish. And I got to say, Hugoās sure got some smooth vocals that could make anybody swoon.
My favourites off the record are āYouāre On (feat. Kyan)ā, āBeingsā, Ā and āNonsense (feat. Mark Foster)ā - and I canāt wait for Madeon to bring the ADVENTURE WORLD TOUR to SouthEast Asia because thatās one show I cannot miss! If you want a preview of what to expect from the tour, you can check out his Coachella live set here.
If you havenāt yet, you can get ADVENTURE on iTunes now!
Iāve been a fan of the franchise since the very first installment and never have I once cried in any of the films until this one. Before watching the 7th iinstallment my favourite of the franchise was Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift because as much as I love fast cars and going at insane speed, drifting just seemed a bit more thrilling to me.
When news was released that they were making a 7th movie, I literally screamed and started fangirling like my life depended on it. I was ready to see more cars, more action, and of course more of Vin, Paul, and the rest of the crew! Not gonna lie, and this is probably going to be the first and last time I use this term but, #SquadGoals for real. Ā How could you not want to be part of that crew?!
Unfortunately during filming, Paul Walker passed away in a car accident alongside a professional race car driver, opening a question to all, are they going to finish the film? If yes, whatās going to happen? Are they going to kill off Paul? WHAT??!!
The film was finished and was previewed early at the 2015 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Where Vin had said āIf you havenāt watched the first 6 films, you are not invited to see this.ā - Understandable because the franchise is not solely based on fast cars but on family as well, and thatās how he thought of Paul (and the rest of the crew), family.
ā
I finally (!!) got to watch the 7th installment last night after it already being in theaters for 2 weeks, and to be honest, I had tears in my even before walking into the cinema. I made sure that my makeup was waterproof because I knew Iād be bawling my eyes out. Haha!
The cinematography was insanely spot on! The diversity of lenses, angles, and flawless transitions had the video editor in me imagine what itād be like to be given the opportunity to edit a film that made your heart beat louder than your thoughts.
And every time Paul came onto the screen, I got a bit more emotional than I already was. Specifically during the following scenes:
The crew were gathered at Hanās funeral and Roman said to Brian āNo more funeralsā¦ā and Brian responded with āā¦just one moreā
Where āMr. Nobodyā told Dom that he had gathered his crew, and Paul walked into frame in a cinematic way, and the fact that he was the only one wearing white amongst the entire screw, I mean cāmon how could you Ā not tear up?!
In UAE where Dom drove the sports car between 3 buildings and Brian was in the passengers seat
When they returned to LA, the night things went down and Brian called Mia and said his goodbye just in case he didnāt make it (I was already crying so hard by then) and when they both got off the phone they said that they loved one another
When Dom drove into the night sky and wasnāt breathing after crashing, Brian and Leti were trying to save him, and of course
The ending. This I wonāt spoil because you have to see it for yourself to understand why.
I was a mess by the end. My emotions couldnāt handle the montage flashback. I may not have known Paul nor any of the actors personally but I could feel the closeness their family had, and how much Paul meant to them.
I truly appreciated the song that Charlie Puth had written with Wiz Khalifa for the movie, called āSee You Againā, the essence of the song captured what family meant, and how itāll never be goodbye.
My words are a mess right now, but thatās because Iāve got tears in my eyes just thinking about the film again. No shame whatsoever though. It was an incredible film, and I think James Wan did an amazing job directing this film.
For Paul.

We are going to talk about Nu Disco and we are going to start off by listening to this amazing song by Televisor.
I first heard of the UK/Netherlands duo when stumbling upon their Itās My Party by Icona Pop remix on Soundcloud. I was surprised by the track because I had been listening to a handful of Progressive House tracks that were on my Soundcloud feed when it suddenly played. And when a track surprises me, I go full on researcher mode on the artist, their discography, their current tour line up, their social media presence; I mean I go a bit overboard just to get to know the artist a bit more. Because who knows, there might be a few hidden gems you didnāt know you were missing out on.
This duo has so much talent, and so much passion for their craft. And you can hear it in their music how they are more than ready to take on the world. As Nu Disco is slowly rising in the music scene, it wonāt long until Televisor is topping the charts and selling out shows worldwide.
Listening to āDeya' was a breath of fresh air, it was different, it put a smile on my face, and it gave me that vibe of knowing I was listening to an instant classic. I can honestly see myself listening to this track 5 years from now, loving it as much as I do now if not even more.
If youāre searching for a feel-good track, make sure to check out Televisor on Soundcloud, follow them on Twitter, and DEFINITELY get a copy of their debut EP āVentureā now available on iTunes!
Now, letās continue on with this dance party shall we? Ā
If you know me, and if you know me well, you know that I have a love for caffeine. Specifically for coffee.
I started drinking coffee in college. I never understood the hype until I had my first cup of coffee that one sleep-deprived, stressed-over-art-plates, didnāt-know-what-was-going-on-night. (Iāve had Starbucks drinks before, but I never considered those as ālegitā coffee)
My obsession for artisan coffee started late 2013; I had stumbled upon a cafƩ and looking at the menu as if it were written in a different language, I made a random choice and nothing has ever been the same since then.
I found out about Commune CafĆ© while I was slightly lost in Makati City one afternoon, the giant wooden high-table is what automatically caught my eye. During that time I was in a cabin-feel phase ā and Iāve been telling my friends about āthis cafe that I saw that we should definitely go to somedayā but no oneās schedule aligned with mine and it came to a point that I completely forgot about it.
UNTIL ONE SUNDAY AFTERNOON! A good friend of mine had called me up in the morning asking if I wanted to go to an event called Art In The Park, I wasnāt doing much so I agreed to go. She had also mentioned that she wanted to take me to a cafe she had found while being lost in the city as well. Right then and there, I knew I had to go with her. I had to go whatever cafe that was, because hello, coffee. Duh!
On the way to the cafe, the streets started to become familiar to me, and the caffeine-lover in me was starting to go mental (in the best way possible)! When we turned a corner and I saw the building I knew I had seen before I immediately yelled to my friend āTHATāS THE CAFE IāVE BEEN TELL YOU ABOUT!ā and sort of ran towards the cafĆ© like a moth to a flame. Haha
It was actually the most perfect day to be at Commune, though packed, it was gloomy and cold outside, and with my giant mug of coffee and my friendās adorable cup of hot chocolate it felt like we were in a Tumblr photo. My listening to dance music didnāt really help set the mood I was imagining though. Whoops!
I havenāt gotten to try any of their food yet but based on what I have tried, I am definitely going back. If not for the coffee but for their perfect location. Itās on a corner, with not that many people passing by, the giant windows, and that massively high wooden table; the ambiance was perfect.
If you love coffee, giant wooden high-tables, and exploring new places I highly suggest you take a trip to Commune CafĆ©. Theyāre located at 102 H.V. Dela Costa Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City.
So what? You failed your finals. You gained some weight. So what? Youāre single again. You lost your job. So what? What now? You live. You try again. Thatās what.

MadeonĀ āNonsenseā feat. Mark Foster
Itās no surprise that Madeonās debut albumĀ āAdventureā is going to be an album worth raging about. With the previews heās released includingĀ āYouāre Onā,Ā āPay No Mindā, andĀ āImperiumā, we got a taste of what he entire record has to offer.
And in my opinion, the France native has hit a gold mine with this one. Madeon has also released the entire album to be streamed for FREE on iTunes.Ā
āAdventureā is set to be released on 30 March 2015 worldwide.
And while we wait, if you head over to his website, you can create your own mixes using samples from his hit singles via Adventure Machine, and Tweet them over for the producer to see! Heās been retweeting his favourites over on his Twitter.

What do you mean I have to wait for someoneās approval? Iām someone. I approve. So I give myself permission to move forward with my full support!
Richelle E. Goodrich,Ā Smile Anyway: Quotes, Verse, & Grumblings for Every Day of the Year.Ā (via wordsnquotes)
The truth is that nobody is owed an apology for anything. Apologies are lovely when they happen. But they change nothing. They do not reverse actions or correct damage. They are merely nice to hear.

Another fantastic day at REPUBL1C Wake Park in Nuvali! Ā
I apologise for being a terrible blogger, but Iām trying my best to get back into the game. Soon I wonāt just be posting photos, Iāll add short descriptions about this and that.
Coffee, good music, and great company. Couldn't ask for a better Saturday night.
You are going to be so much more than āenoughā for someone someday.

Tracy Chapman āFast Car (Krumm & Schief Remix)ā
The classic pop song was given a tropical house remix from two amazing producers from Sweden.Ā
Krumm & Schief came together in 2010 and have been creating remixes in different genres, and various artists such as Sam Smith, Jasmine Thompson, and many others. Their sound is a combination of white noise, hihats, and a smooth kick beat. Itās different, itās refreshing, itās just what we all need right now.
Iām a sucker for songs that make me feel like Iām on the road, set for an adventure in the great wide wonder, not knowing whatās waiting for me. I can imagine the wind in my hair, the sun shining down on me, and the track playing as if Iāve got my own personal soundtrack. What can I say, Iāve got wanderlust.
If youāre like me, always looking for an adventure, I highly suggest you add this track to your playlist and follow Krumm & Schief. Theyāll keep you great company whenever youāre on the road, in the air, on sea, or even when itās your mind thatās drifting away to where youād rather be.
