No Man is an Island
They say we were born into this world with nothing. Materially, that is. Because we sure have our mom in the first seconds of our lives.
We were brought into this world with our family. Eventually we met our first batch of schoolmates who turned into our friends, and so on.
We explored the world with them, in the process, we met new people to call friends.
We reached the peak — of life, friendships, adventures.
But just like mountain climbing, we eventually have to go back down.
To what?
To the reality of, well, we can’t stay there forever. We’re not meant to stay there.
We have to go back down to rest from all the excitement that wore us out.
We have to go back down so we can cherish the view again from the bottom.
We have to go back down so we can properly plan our next peak.
And in doing this, season after season, some people will want to join you again and again. Some will need to rest. Some will prefer different adventures. And you have to accept that.
As you go through life, there may be different people in your Season 1 and your Season 8 — and that’s okay. Because the truth is, you won’t want the same thing forever either.
But notice the pattern, in every season, you were never alone.
Never :)
