what really tickled my pickle is the fact that everyone tried to guess rey’s parentage and completely ignored rey herself. i felt so much relief when rey’s parents turned to be nobodies because everyone would completely disregard her force powers if she was a kenobi/skywalker. like rey is a strong independent female character who doesn’t need a strong bloodline as justification for her powers thanks for coming to my ted talk
