Having been peering down at the city below, Signal has to stop himself from instinctively tensing at the noise. Sitting so high up and in the middle of the day, no one should have been able to sneak up on him. Still, improbable or not, it has clearly happened already seeing as he has to feign nonchalance as he rises from his crouch, fingers loosely gripping his eskrima sticks.
Turning around, Duke lets his gaze sweep the seemingly empty roof until a faint flicker in the air has him sharpening his sight just enough for the outline of a ghostly child to become visible.
Signal readjusts his grip on his weapons, though he doubts what good they’d do against his opponent.
“…please don’t tell me that I’m about to get jumped by a creepy ghost child.”

Besides, he did not get enough sleep for the layering of future and present not to give him a headache today.

first of all, this is not a candidacy. this is a deep rooted desire that will one day be realized, so jot that down.
