“then just go.” mel’s chin rested in her hand as she stared at ezri. his rambling was annoying, but she dealt with it anyway. all for appearance’s sake. she rolled her eyes and sat up, offering the baseball player a grin. she suddenly perked up as she continued talking, the idea of disney making her a bit more interested. “i have no idea how many there are. but you can just pack up and go right now. we can make a trip of visiting them all!” 

for the past decade and some change, johnny had called december ‘hell month’ for very good reason. but this past month had been more hellish than he could have ever prepared for. now that he was emerging once more, it was like he was gasping for air. ideally, he wouldn’t have wanted to make that part obvious, but there wasn’t much he could do at this point. “didn’t your mama ever tell you staring’s not polite?” he said to the pair of eyes he felt on him.

it was a sad thing to see. mel’s eyes followed a man that looked as though he had never seen the light of day before. her unabashed staring was common, and there was no shame to be found on her face when the man spoke to her. instead, she furrowed her brow in visible contempt. “didn’t your mommy ever teach you to leave the house with decency?”
