I had to post this, it is just too perfect. Back off, why do you people care so much? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I’m sure she could give a shits about yours. She is beautiful, and she is going to be a great mom.
You can't win with people, can you?
You’re a bad person if you choose to give up your unplanned baby but you’re an idiot if you’re a young mom.
You’re stupid if you choose to marry someone just because you got pregnant but you’re sinful if you’re unmarried and have a kid.
You’re lazy if you make the financial decision to stay home instead of pay for daycare but you're neglectful if you go out and work all day.
You're detrimental to society if you use government healthcare, but you’re a bad parent if you can’t get the correct prenatal care.
You’re ruining your family’s future if you don’t continue your higher education but if you can’t find time to go to school, work full time AND take care of your child 24/7, you’re an unfit mother.
People are so unfair. Society places so much more pressure on young moms just because of the fact that they’re young moms. NO mom is perfect, NO mom is perfectly prepared and almost ALL moms need at least some help, whether from their families, partners, government or churches and temples. People need to think before they speak, it’s so discouraging to hear this all day long.
I Became a Mother at 19, and Here are All the Unfiltered Silly and Not-So-Silly Things People Have Said to Me
“From 19 to 23, I cannot tell you how many times people asked why I didn’t get an abortion.” - I Became a Mother at 19, and Here are All the Unfiltered Silly and Not-So-Silly Things People Have Said to Me

do you know what it means to be a young parent?
it means: • people saying you’re a failure. • people telling your parents they failed in raising you. • people making remarks about your sex life. • people assuming you are or will end up single. • people automatically assuming you’re on government assistance and always will be. • people belittling your opinions. • people questioning your parenting decisions. • people calling you immature or childish when you tell them to mind their own business.
it means that even though I care for my child the same way and tell my child the same exact thing at night as a 30 year old mother ( “I love you”, “you’re absolutely perfect”, “you are the best thing I have ever done in my life”), I’m somehow less of a mother because of my age.
This is sadly accurate. Lets bring young mothers up and help them to do good! Not outcast them and wish them the worst.
Gotta love that mom life!!
To the girls with...
To the girl with the pregnancy test in the grocery store bathroom, waiting impatiently to see her results, you will survive. To the girl with the packed backpack full of clothes and photos, getting kicked out by her parents because she is pregnant, you will survive. To the girl with the boy who left her because he won't own up to his responsibilities of being a father, you will survive. To the girl going into labor who is scared of the change her life will have when she gives birth, you will survive. To the girl with the life plan who can not bring a child into the world yet, you will survive. To the girl with the pain in the hospital room alone without an infant to take home, you will survive. To the girl with the crying infant who has not slept in weeks, you will survive. To the girl with the scrutiny of society because she became pregnant as a teenager, you will survive. I will not lie and say you will be ok, because life is a roller coaster and no one knows if life will get better or worse, but I do know you will survive through this journey. You will come out stronger and wiser than before. You are not defined by the words and judgments of others. You are defined by your perception of who you are, not anyone else's.
I am a statistic.
When a woman becomes pregnant, she is a mother. When a teen becomes pregnant, she is a statistic. When a woman gives birth, the world shows nothing but prosperity and hope for her and her child's future. When a teen gives birth, the world sets her destination for failure. When a woman is asked how old, it is always how old is her child. When a teen is asked how old, it is almost always referring to her age, not her child's. When a teen becomes pregnant, everybody likes to act as if they are mathematicians. That they are allowed to throw statistics every which way, as if it helps the situation (it doesn't). A person who has truly studied statistics knows that, not one person is the same and that these percentages are just estimates. Not one adult is the same, not one teen is the same. When a teen decides to keep a child, it is almost mandatory to hear the unsolicited advice of adoption and abortion. Yes I am a teen. No I am not qualified by law as an adult. But I made the decision to have sex, so I am allowed to make the decision of what I will do with "MY" unborn child. You can not decide for me. It's not so much that I care that I am a statistic. In fact I don't give a shit what the world believes I am incapable of doing. No, the thing that always hits me the hardest is when they begin to throw statistics at my child, as if he were just a number. Say what you will about me, but my son does not need to grow up thinking that because his mom was a teen when she had him, that he is more likely to be a teen father or go to prison, than the boys who were not born to teen moms. How dare you say that! It was not his decision to come into this world, so don't label him for my actions. I can't stop people from asking me questions about my age or looking at my son and I as if I were just his babysitter. But what I can do is challenge the way America and the world thinks, and raise my son with the mind set that no matter what curveball life throws you, you can accomplish whatever your heart desires. Even if life throws you in the grand canyon and it seems impossible to get out, you can because God gave you the strength and love to believe in yourself and to succeed. Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. William Shakespeare "Julius Caesar"
When I see people say they’re gonna vote for Hillary because they want a female president, I cringe. She is SO problematic. Vote Bernie Sanders.
Check out his platform.
Hillary is not for the people, she is for the government.
Yes!!! I did a research project on sanders for government on why he would make a good president, that was a year ago I did it! He would make a terrific president and I am excited that I will be able to vote this year, and for someone who I truly believe would make an incredible president!!!

did you co-sleep w k when she was an infant? if so how? (:
Yes we co slept on my bed :)
At first I was scared to co sleep but my son hated to be away from means my bf so we gave it a try and I wouldn't have it any other way! Just make sure when you co sleep you give your baby enough room and I would suggest not falling asleep with them in your arms.
Even today, boys are often expected to stifle their tears and swallow their anger while girls are allowed much more freedom to show their emotions. When your son gets upset, let him express himself, as long as he isn’t being destructive or completely out of control. It’s much healthier than bottling it up. Then, once he’s calmed down, you can talk to him about what he’s feeling and why.
I’ve seen so many posts today like: “The church/conservatives force women to keep their fetuses, then treat the women like crap if they do!!!!!”
Within 20 miles of my home, there are THREE homes for teen moms, and TWO homes/support centers for women/single mothers, all of which provide care and council. ALL OF WHICH ARE OPERATED BY LOCAL CHURCHES, AND DONATIONS OF CHURCH AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
And what have local pro-choicers/liberal “women’s rights” activists done to support these women? Nothing to support them, that’s for sure. If anything, they use these women as abortion propaganda. They point and say “See this teenage girl who isn’t going to college because she’s raising a child? IF ONLY SHE’D HAD AN ABORTION.” Instead of supporting her choice to give birth, and supporting her as a woman.
