“Seems perfect,” he always noticed that Damian seemed to be more chill around his friends, less like Robin, more like Damian. It seemed like he was a different person when he put his suit on, but maybe that was just Chris imagining things, but he did seem less serious to him when he was just himself, and not Robin, “I know you do, though there are far more dangerous rides around here, but that boat is definitely a good start.” he said, as he followed the other.

There were so many rides, that he wasn’t even sure where to begin, he supposed that was one of the bad things about a park that had so many options, you didn’t know where to start. It became even slightly overwhelming, “I have no idea, I was actually hoping that you would pick,” he admitted, he was sure that whatever he decided that they should do first, he would have an amazing time, so he honestly actually preferred if he wasn’t the one that would pick, it would be a lot easier, “That one seems good,” he pointed to the Vikings boat, that kept on swinging back and forth.

It was nice to hear someone say that he wasn’t like his father, Damian wasn’t the first person to tell him that, his adoptive parents said that more than once, but it was nice to hear him say that nevertheless. Sometimes he needed a little reminder that he was a good person, that he wasn’t like his dad, “Thank you, Damian, I’m really glad you think that,” what his friends thought about him was just so important to him, “I guess that’s a good thing,” otherwise, he could end up getting frustrated, so maybe it was better that way, “We sure do,” he started to walk toward the park’s entrance, he could already hear people screaming on the rides.

“It can haunt you, though I will never think it as something that’s part of who I am, some people may be scared of me, because of who my father was, but I’m nothing like him. The past should just stay in the past, hopefully those people will understand one day that you’re not the same person that you were back then, “ he could understand in a way, they only saw that side of him, so they didn’t know how amazing he was, and how he was a good person. Maybe with time, when they see how much he helped other people, they would see he wasn’t the same anymore, one could only hope that they would lose that fear, “Yeah, I definitely do,” he said with a smile, as he hopped off the motorcycle, “Let’s get going then.”

The only good thing that his childhood gave to him, was the fact that he was immune to the Phantom Zone, and that Kryptonite didn’t affect him like it affected other Kryptonians, it still affected him, but he could handle being around it longer. The bad side though was the abusive parents and the growth spurts, not to mention his parents always trying to make him evil. “I prefer to deny it,” he admitted, if he could forget that life, he would, “I can’t say the same about mine,” he loved his adoptive mom, but his biological one? Not so much, “I guess so, at least you had a mom that was good to you, considering you love her and all, right? That’s something.”

“I’m so glad that you didn’t follow that path, Damian,” he smiled widely, the other was someone that he cared about, he deserved to have a good life, to be surrounded by people that cared for him. He had a good heart, and he was glad that Bruce was able to show him that, to show him that he wasn’t an assassin, “Because it’s part of your history, but it’s not who you are,” people didn’t have to be what they were raised to be, just like Chris, he was raised to be a villain, but he didn’t have to be one, he was his own person.

“Why was it the safest thing?” he was taught how to fight since he was born, Ursa and Zod made sure that he would be a warrior, but the difference was that there was no love involved, quite the opposite. “Yeah, after spending time with the Kents, I just started to think that moms usually wouldn’t let their son do something so dangerous, but I guess since you have been Robin since a kid, riding a motorcycle is the least dangerous thing you could do,” he said, thinking a little better about it.

If Chris decided to learn how to drive a bike before he was even 10, his parents wouldn’t care, as they never truly cared about the boy. Still, he was shocked that Damian’s mom did, he supposed that it was because after he was adopted by Clark and Lois, he saw how it was to have non abusive parents, and Lois wouldn’t ever let him do that, “And your mom was just okay with that? I’m surprised she let you do it.”

Of course that he also thought about the food, how couldn’t he when it was so good? Every time he went into a park, even if he rarely went to one, he ate the food, they were always good. Going to one and not eating anything, was almost a crime in his opinion, but maybe that was just his food lover heart talking, “Obviously, I wouldn’t ever not eat the food, I know I would regret it after if I did that,” He said as he got into the bike, and placed his hands on the other’s waist. Most places he went, he ate what they were selling, “Was it because of your job?” he said the last part in a different tone of voice so he knew what he meant. 

If the park wasn’t fun, then they could go somewhere else, but since he heard so many people talking about it, he figured that it couldn’t be bad. If it wasn’t good, then it wouldn’t be so popular, right? Usually parks that so many people enjoyed, were great, “I want to go on every ride there, so we may stay there for a while,” he laughed, the park was huge, or so he heard, people always said that it was the largest one in there, so it probably had a lot of different rides, “It’s okay, I don’t mind having to hold on,” he preferred to fly when he wanted to go somewhere, but since he would go with the other, and he didn’t have that power, they could go on his bike.

The general public really enjoyed going to those kind of things. “Every ride, huh? Well we can make that happen. We should try some of the food there too.” Damian knows it will be pure sugar, and he will have to work it off with extra hours training, but he was excited for this the more they talked about it. He grabs two helmets, tossing one over to Chris. “Excellent. You’re in great hands. I’m the best, been driving since I was eight.” He says slipping his own on before getting onto the motorcycle. He waits for his friend to get on, but is turning it on while he’s being patient.

There were quite a few amusement parks in there, so it was really hard for him to pick one, as Chris could be rather indecisive at times, especially when all of them seemed to be so great. Going by what other people said that is, as he had to admit that he didn’t go to a lot of them, he was always too busy with his hero life, not to mention that he ended up going back to the Phantom Zone, and the second time stayed a long time there, “How about the biggest one? I think the name is Luna Park,” he said with a smile, “Yep, unless you want to take someone else? Which I would be cool with too,” he smiled, “Yes, we definitely can.” if they waited too long, he could end up having to put his suit on and save someone.

It wasn’t often that Damian would take time off to let himself have fun. He needs to take a break from being a HERO to let himself have that enjoyment too. Especially with how against HEROES the world is these days he should be careful. Besides the sun was out, and he can’t exactly go to Robin things anyway. “LUNA PARK. It sounds good to me.” He says with a smile too, pulling some keys out from his pocket. “I don’t have anyone else I’d rather take. It’ll be just the two of us. I can drive us, but you’ll have to hold on since it’s. motorcycle after all.” Damian knows not everyone was comfortable with that.

                     Cassandra and Damian were probably push to each other by circumstances, being half of their family gone to the past but they had better understanding of each other. She used to stay away from him as he was raised by the same people was running away from. But life works in odd ways.

                     “ I think, we’ll let Alfred take care of that. “     Alfred probably already had something prepared.    “ Wait, shall we do…covert mission suits. We don’t really want attention, right ? “    At that moment, Cassandra’s mind if running in different directions in excitement. 

Damian now that he’s older can’t fault Cassandra for keeping her distance. He wasn’t the most approachable growing up, usually sticking by his father or Richard the most, but he knows better now. He was proud to be part of this family, and given the circumstances that the two of them were able to become close. He wishes they would have earlier.

“ tell me about it, ” mia murmurs out softly, looking to his hand and weighs out the pros and cons for a moment before grabbing it and using his weight to help lift herself to her feet with a small groan. “ i’m great, NO THANKS TO HIPSTER GLASSES AND BEANIE, ” she yells after the man who’d made her land on her backside, shaking her head. looking at the boy, her brows knitted together. “ wait – you look familiar. ”

                    The more time she spent with Damian, the more she realized the similarities between them. Both were raised to be assassins but end up living to save lives. Both carved their own path that was different from what they were supposed to be.     “ We both learned from the best. “     They were raised by the League of Assassins but they were both Bruce’s children and they were taught to make the right choices. 

                     “ No other time better than now, right? “    Excitement started to course through her veins, any chance she get to do the right things to make up for the past mistakes she had made when she was way younger, Cass takes it.  “ Keep it covert…until situation calls for a fight, of course. I’ll prepare us snacks. “  

“We did.” Damian answers with a smirk, sometimes wishing that he had grown closer to his siblings at an earlier age. He had been stubborn — still very much set in his ways, but more open with his family at least. Strangers? Not so much. He was straight a lot of lessons over the years — some about hurting others, and a lot more about saving them instead.

“Damian,” Lois greeted, an easy smile taking shape on her mouth. It had been a while. Times were hectic, and they had little excuse to make the trip down to Gotham these days. “Not to be one of those old people that’s always like ‘oh, wow, you’ve gotten so big’ every time I see you, but, fuck. Look at you! Stop growing.”

Lois swung her handbag on the table, holding up a finger and rifling through it with her other hand. “Forget the croissant,” she supplied a crumpled paper bag, sliding it across the table to Damian. “Baklava, from Aria Sweets on 42nd and Broadway. Help yourself.”

Damian smiles softly — having always liked Lois ever since he was younger. He always feels a sense of embarrassment in a GOOD way when people talk about how much he has grown. Which is expected since he was approaching twenty soon. “I hardly believe it myself sometimes.” The boy laughs even as he lightens the mood.
