and jetlagged to unpack so he’d decided that instead he’d get himself reacquainted with the friends he’d left behind. London had been rough, the young man having often been involved in territory disputes with the natives. He didn’t care though, having pushed back just as hard when they tried to intimidate him. He’d spend long enough living under the influence and control of someone else, he refused to bow down and submit yet again. Clothed in a navy t-shirt, black jeans and his grey denim jacket, he strolled into the school with his head held high in spite of the glances from other students. No one had known he was coming, not even Lydia or Danny. It was only when he heard the snarl of a unfamiliar voice that he paused in his step, eyes drifting to the left as he identified it as belonging to a small blonde. A confident smile spread across his lips, curious as to who exactly felt as though they ran the joint. Obviously they hadn’t met Lydia yet. It was only when he breathed in as he went to walk past that he halted in his steps. She was different but not in a way that was familiar to him. Where werewolves had a certain smell about them, he’d discovered that banshee’s and some other creatures didn’t. This woman smelt like ashwood trees though and the sheets of the motel he’d once spent the night in after being too drunk to find his way home.           “They reckon you get further with kindness”. Jackson didn’t care about the freshman’s feeling, he just wanted to start conversation.

     It was a tactic that she'd used many times before. Scaring people without even saying anything worked wonders for her before so it was a cakewalk to do so to him. However it didn't take her long to see that he wasn't going to crack. There was nothing about his expression that displayed this but instead his scent gave it away. Like a musty house that was filled with twenty dogs. She knew the scent fairly well but wouldn't give it away that she knew. Instead that secret was placed in her back pocket for a rainy day. A supernatural creatures identity was precious and most would do just about anything for it.

     She decided to act like a normal human then, not giving any sort of sign that she was part of that secret world. Then again he could probably smell her scent but most didn't quite know what a phoenix smelt like or really that the existed. A smirk came across Kenna's face as she stared at the other.

                                        "And I reckon you get out of my face."

                        “Yeah—of course. It’s not SAFE                              here for you, not at all.” 

       ( kenna took a few steps back from him,          turning to head back to the office. )
