Fixing his tie a slight bit he knew just exactly how much he’d annoyed her. Somewhat he still was a bit tipsy though and sort of oblivious to the full extent. Generally the reason why most people didn’t like him which he still tried processing why Zed stuck around. “Yeah I know huge asshole, insensitive, prone to being a human disaster.”
John dug around in his pockets,”Bloody cop stealing people’s smokes like I paid money for them.” Grumbling to himself then paused hearing Zed,”I’ll add it to my list between you and Chas I basically owe first class tickets to heaven for putting up with me.”
Finding a cigarette he pulled it out of his pocket,”Ha.” Putting it in his mouth he lit up with his trusty lighter before tucking it away,”Thanks though wouldn’t have blamed you if you let me sit overnight.”
She frowned, a strange expression crossing her features. She didn’t like the way John spoke about himself, and she knew she berated him for being an inconsiderate dick, but she also admired him quite genuinely. “You forgot charming, but don’t let that get to your head John.” He was incredible, Zed wasn’t blind. She could see the way people reacted to him- some of the time, when he wasn’t being an asshole.
“I’d be happy with a drink or two, John.” Zed commented, lifting her shoulders in a shrug. “Maybe some charcoals, then we can call it even.” She lifted her lips into a small smile. She cared for John, when she had said he owed her, she hadn’t really meant it. Not really.
“As if I would have done that, I was actually looking forward to listening to you try and teach me all about my psychic abilities tonight. Don’t think I’m letting you off the hook because you got yourself arrested.”
