“  ooh ! ” lucy exclaimed as she popped another chip into her mouth just before a handful had been quickly gathered. among the assortment of salty snacks were some she’d never seen before, even with her years in london that seemed to be scattered amongst the time spent in narnia. “  i could eat the eat the entire bowel,” she chuckled and pointed with her free hand to a strangely bright orange food.  “  do you know what that is ?  ” her brows knitted together and the weight of her frame bared on her left leg as she leaned forward. 

“  you know, if edmund —  ” ‘ were here ’ she wanted to say as if it were possible. lucy’s vibrant blue eyes lowered to her handful of chips and her lips pressed together to form a curt smile. “  so,  what’s your favorite then ?  ”

That was a good question, and Thackery contemplated saying as much to the one who asked only to hold back due to the unusual situation he’d found himself in. You see, the last thing Thackery could recall was being on Earth, in a graveyard specifically, swiping at one of the Sanderson sisters with his claws. Because he was very much a cat not too long ago. Cursed to be such by those ugly old hags. Waking up on what he’d been informed was an entirely different planet, in human form once more, well, he had some questions of his own. At least the woman’s questions seemed easier to answer. “I couldn’t tell you, as I’ve never eaten any of this sort of food before.” And frankly, he wasn’t sure if he could eat it now. He didn’t know how he would react to any of it. The last time he’d eaten food meant for humans was 1693 and few dishes remained the same over the centuries.

           castiel wasn’t sure what the formalities associated with brunch were, but he showed up to meet his partner, anyway. he had a full plate of food in front of him, though he had no intention of eating any of it; he’d ordered it only to blend in, and to hopefully make his partner feel more comfortable. “ my name is castiel, ” he introduced, offering the woman an awkward and forced smile. “ this is… quite strange, and i’m not used to situations like these. you may need to guide me through it. ” 

Katniss often wondered if she was the only person around not falling for this whole thing. Upon being greeted by the one she’d been paired with for brunch, all it took was one look at the expression on his face and she finally felt a flicker of hope that, even though she didn’t know Castiel, she wasn’t alone in her suspicions anymore. The hope didn’t last long however. Wishing she’d gotten a plate of food for herself so she’d have something else to focus on, she closed her eyes briefly before she replied. “Katniss Everdeen. It’s simple enough. If it sounds too good to be true, it is, and if you stick with me, you’ll just end up dead.”

Caesar Flickerman: What is your biggest weakness?

Katniss: I can be uncooperative.
