joey was born in acapulco, mexico when their parents were visiting their mother’s family. it was a complicated birth and the family had to stay in the coast for around six months before moving to ny, where they reside

there is a total of seven bravo siblings, jo is the sixth in line

their family is… well accommodated in the new york social circle. their mom is a socialite and business mogul (think female jordan belfort) and their dad was a professor at brown

joey was the black sheep of their family for a very young age, they were the polar opposite to the paredes, but had to play the part as one of the clan while living under their roof/being a part of the family and ulimately, taking advantage of what being a paredes brought them.

they DID live a double life while in new york, whatosever. a pseudio socialite, golden child on one side and a rebel anarchist on the other.

they began abusing substances at a VERY young age, due to the people they had in their circle and their inability to handle the trauma of living with an abusive mother and siblings and suffering from undiagnosed depression.

almost got married, once. they broke off the engagement days before the big day after a big fight with their ex ended with them in er

their father died when they were 21 due to cancer which prompted them to break away from the cycle of abuse and they decided to move from new york. after driving hours on end and living on their car for a few weeks, visiting towns, they found moorbrooke and decided to give the town a try. it’s been two years and jo still can’t grow tired of the charming little town and it helps that not many people in moorbrooke know where they come from / their family and jo can be whoever they want to be.

works as a bartender, sometimes djs in special events because they love to dj if they need some extra cash. writes songs when inspiration strikes but they never show them to ANYONE (or like, almost anyone. there’s a lot of trust that goes into actually showing their music)

they have a hard time letting people in? they are chill, will joke with you for hours and do their best to make you laugh, but actually connecting with people is hard for them bc trust issues.

lowkey has an alcohol & drugs dependency problem but won’t accept it because it’s the only way they can handle their life, rlly is trying to get it together and be LESS OF A MESS
