Lexi's eyes lingered on his, unflinching despite the smoky haze that blurred the edges of her vision. She took a deliberate step closer, her voice measured yet tinged with a quiet intensity. "Maybe I said that once," she admitted softly, a hint of a smirk threatened to form but held back. "Maybe I convinced myself I wouldn't look back. But life's never been about just one moment, has it?" Her gaze flickered with a mixture of resolve and vulnerability. "If there's even a flicker of something real…something worth fighting for…then I won't stand here and pretend I don't feel it. I won't let the fear of what might go wrong keep me from trying to rewrite the ending."
