@eniqmvtic asked: You don’t have to forgive me.
Everything was working out according to his plan. The Clark boy had gotten the golden soldier's trust so far that he was able to move around the base rather freely. Leaving room for him to snoop around whenever and wherever he could. Yet in doing so it was bound to happen he discovered the notes, the plans about the routes taken that had led to the raid on his previous shelter. The one he had resided in with his family, his friends and which had went up in flames without much of a care in the world. Well, except for the goods they had meant to take from them. He remembered the little commotion about it which had opened him a chance to make a run for it when first brought to this community of raiders. He still wondered what had happened to everyone, if they all had made it or not. An uncertainty which kept lingering within his guts since.
What left a bitter taste on his tongue was not only the list of names that revealed how much they had come to figure out about them, but the names who must have been part of the whole operation. One name in particular jumped into his eyes and Nick came to one sickening conclusion. Trevor was the one Strand had made a promising deal with.
Grabbing those notes he headed outside. Dark eyes in search of the golden soldier. Grim expression upon his features as he made his way over to the man once he had spotted him. Nick didn’t care he was in the middle of a conversation with some lower soldiers as he firmly grabbed Trevor by his arm and pulled him around. The other hand slammed the notes against the male’s chest as his dark eyes reflected the boiling anger within him. “It was you!”
Whichever reaction he had expected that indifferent expression which seemed to settle on Trevor’s face was not it. Had he really thought he would read at least some remorse in it? Why was it bothering him so much that he didn’t? He didn’t care about this man like he pretended he was doing, but maybe that line had blurred after all without him realizing. However, how Trevor was in a way dismissing the matter, like it’s water under the bridge with this one sentence tossed at his head, something snapped within him.
Unexpected to everyone present, Nick tackled Trevor to the ground. Due to the moment of surprise the Clark was able to grab a fistful of the golden soldier’s collar and pressed down onto his throat as he sat over him. The gun, which was only in his possession, because they were meant to head out on a scout trip, grabbed from its place on his hip and aimed at the male’s face as wild dark eyes bored into those blue ones.
